Oh boo. All those nasty humans deserve to die because they want to run in front of a poor, helpless bull. How could they hurt the bull like that!?

Honestly. People.

This picture is incredibly well timed, and deserves the DD that it received. So congratulations on it, it's lovely.

Although I dislike the content of this photo, it is a very nice shot quality wise. You captured the moment very well. It's a little too grainy from high ISO, but other than that it is a nice shot.

I do not think that putting something under the category of Photojournalism/Documentary is an excuse to be able to post cruel photos, as has been mentioned on here.

I do not wish the man harm, but only that the bull was not harmed either. This is not bullfighting, which is extremely barbaric and cruel. But this really is not much better.
And also to the whingers, who make mention of how people are crying out sympathy for the bull while they also eat meat.. Eating meat is NOT the same as using an animal for your own sick pleasure. Stop being so ignorant and self righteous, it makes you look pathetic.

A natural animal instinct. A sudden rush, you ether like the rush, or freeze on the spot- which usually means you don't like it.

It's probably the same sort of rush you get sky diving. Adrenilyn junkies (probably spelt wrong) Need to put themselves in more dangourus positions to get the same rush any other person would get from something like going real fast in a car or on a rolercoaster. Whether that be in the way of a bull or cliff diving.

I love this capture! Beautiful shot, I'm glad that it's a black and white, given that all the people are dressed mainly in pale outfits and the bull is dark-colored. Wonderful contrast and possible symbolism.

Honestly, I see nothing wrong with bull running. I honestly don't see anything wrong with bull fighting. People act like animals have to do all the suffering in this world. People suffer all the time, and not just physically, but mentally and emotionaly, and there are fewer people who care about them than they care about those who aren't even their own kind. How backwards is that? If one is going to devote themselves to a cause, why not to the cause of easing human suffering that happens every day, too?

Bull fighting is horrible.

Who are WE, humans, to decide how an animal is to live its life?
We speak out for humans who have no rights in their lives, who are forced into situations that they cannot control. All around the world people speak up for human rights. Look how far we have come over the last hundred years, can you honestly say that nothing has been done to further human rights?

Human suffering is caused by humans. And that I can live with.
Animal suffering is caused by humans. The decrease of everything that is good and pure in this world - is caused by humans.

We came into this world as animals, we are a part of them, except that we managed to evolve further. And what, now we own them? Now we can use their lives for our own sick and perverted entertainment?

I didn't mention anything about human rights. I did mention human suffering.

And I really don't care much about animals that aren't affecting the big picture. If a bull dies, that bull dies. If more sharks are killed for their fins, all of the ocean ecosystem suffers. The bull isn't affecting anything but itself. And maybe someone it smacks the stuffings out of.

Anyway. I've made my point, you've made yours. I care more about animals than humans, you care more about humans. And in any case, my opinion matters more to me. So let's agree to disagree and move on.

I don't care if you mentioned human rights, I mentioned them. Because we have our basic human rights, and somehow that makes us able to control the rights of animals? No. It doesn't.

Well when it comes down to it, I would much rather humans suffer because of their own idiocy and the actions of other humans, than an animal be made to suffer for some disgusting display of entertainment for the ignorant of our world. No animal is any less important than the others, they all have a place and reason for being here, some not as obvious as the others. That is like saying 'Oh if one african man dies, that's fine, but if you kill more americans, the economics of our world will just crash and burn'.

The mention of human rights has very little to do with my original meaning. I was speaking of human well-being, the way that humans treat one another. Not 'human rights', which is more of a legal concern.

I don't view humans in the same light as I do animals. One human's life is equal to that of another, even if there is more emphasis on more 'important' individuals from a societal view.

Human rights is not a legal concern. It's a basic thing. EVERYBODY deserves basic human rights, it's your born right to not be hurt or put through suffering, not just if your country decides to make it legal or not. If people stopped fighting for human rights, there would be a lot more suffering. You cannot end suffering without fighting for human rights, and everybodys right to live without being abused or treated unfairly.

Well I don't share your views. Every life is as valuable as the next. Humans, animals. We ARE animals. The only difference was our ability to evolve and move further through life. And each animals life is just as important as the next. A rabbits life is still as valuable as a sharks, even if you do not feel that they are important to you.

As I said. Agree to disagree and move on. We don't share the same views and never will.

Because basic human rights is a legal concern does not make it a right you are not born with. And I never claimed that sesession from the maintenence of human rights was a meritable thing.

Interesting how discussion of animal treatment turned into human rights philosophy.

Have you watched bull fighting? It is horrible and brutal, the animal suffers for our own sport. Animals do indeed feel depression and very deeply on an emotional level I have seen in in many animals i have been around. People care more about animals because they can not speak out for themselves and tell who ever is hurting them to "stop it" or "go away" where as a human being as the power to be able to do so....

I have watched bull fighting. Those bulls are incredibly well bred to do what they do.
Animals do speak. They do comunicate. I think you mean they often don't have the power to remove themselves from the situation.

Either way, I prioritize my own kind over that of any singular animal. If we're going to talk about animals as it pertains to keeping the world's ecosystem in healthy balance, then yes, a species of animal being able to live comfortably so that it can survive and reproduce and, thus, maintain balance, does have my concern.

Oh I don't doubt that, it's like when you look at stud bulls bred for meat. They are beautiful animals.
Yes they do, but not in words that people will listen to. And yes a lot of times they can't remove themsevles from the situation, if something is hurting you the instinc is to lash out (in general, some will try and run away.)

Meh, the human race to me is...meh lol...While there are a lot of decent people in the world and I have the pleasure of being part of some of these peoples lives. We are really a disgusting race, we pollute the land, steal habitat for our own instead of looking at better ways of doing things....The little area behind my park is a classic expample of how people do not care, they use it as a garbage dump :(....

Well, stud bulls aren't eaten. They're more likely used for breeding more of the same, which are casterated so that they gain better. Also, testosterone lessens the meat quality.
My family and I are in the grass-fed beef industroy. :)

XD you see I've seen stud bulls, young ones being sold for meat ^^;...At shows. Dunno what if the people buying the bulls at auction will leave them for a bit, breed with or used as meat, but generally used for meat.

Ah, San Fermin bullruns...I wish they could replace bull fights with bullruns instead...the animal isn't harmed as much, and it's still exciting to see, even if it's dangerous for those who run before the bulls...can't be more dangerous than the Cretan bull leapers of Ancient Greece..:+fav:
