Dynamic stills custos Movies are central to your art: many times you are inspired by them and re-create film stills. Scott (NoImNormal) Yes, movies are my favourite thing. I’m obsessive about them. Since I watch so many it probably makes sense that I use them in my art. Ridiculously, I even dream about watching films, being in films, and going to the cinema. I always look quite carefully at films and have a good memory of how shots look, so when I am thinking of ideas for art something from a film tends to spring to mind. Images from the foundry of the soul custos I wonder about your earlier works - often provocative but artistically very strong and sometimes also humorous - and ask why they were so. Was it the result of a bad phase in your life? neiuhelde I must take a trip to the past to answer this question. I was caught by depression at a very young age. There was a time I couldn´t get in contact with people at all and drawing was the only way of communication for me. I suppose I had to entertain myself and others at that point. Sarcastic reflections custos Your works are characterized by a refined, ironic wit which is, however, never offensive. Where do you think this trait takes its origin? apee I would say it comes mostly from watching too many cartoons back than as a kid, and sometimes these had those adult jokes which were filtered in a way to appeal to younger audiences and still most of them I could not understand at that time. Thus I kind of took the same approach in my works where I am depicting mostly negative aspects of life in a humorous way, meaning that I try to conceal them and represent a brighter side of the subject.[...] Read the entire interview
