I usually remain silent when artists or creators I admire pass away. I feel like what they meant to me is personal and should remain so. In the case of Stan Lee, however, words need to be said because I can count on one hand the people who have really changed me as a person and Stan freakin' Lee needs to be acknowledged. I'll copy what I posted on Facebook:
"I don't even know how to describe how Stan Lee's work influenced and affected my life. It may not be an exaggeration to say that I wouldn't be who I am without the stories he brought to life. Godspeed, you legend."
Let's hope we don't lose Watterson, Otomo, or, specially, SPECIALLY, Akira Toriyama anytime soon because I don't think I'd be able to take it.
We lost a giant.
