The Other Side
Carol Thomas walked down the hallway towards the door to Happy Smiles Daycare. She opened the door stepping in.
“Mommy!” The voice of her son Riley called out. She looked over to see him running towards her from the tables where the rest of the kids were gathered. She caught him, lifting him up into her arms.
“Did you have fun today kiddo?” she asked.
“Yeah,” Riley said. “We was painting,” he exclaimed with a big smile. Ms. Kelly then came over.
“Riley dear why don't you go take off your smock and get your pretty painting while me and Mommy chat,”
“Okay,” Riley said as his Mom let him down before he scampered off.
“So,” Carol said. “Did he do any work?”
“No,” Ms. Kelly said, shaking her head. “I offered it to him like usual, but he seemed more interested in playing cars with his friends.”
“I see,” Carol said. “I suppose its time just to abandon it all together and get him moved to full days on Tuesday and Thursdays.”
“Sure,” Ms. Kelly said. “I'll get it
