TFQS ACT III: RUMINATION #12
OUT OF ORDEREarp stood near the entrance of the gyrocopter as Rupert was inspecting the driver’s seat. The damage was minimal, though Gianniadmitted it was a bad idea to fire a grenade inside. The boat was on its side and Rupert insisted it wouldn’t fly unless straight on theground. So after the Gun Dogs pushed it out of the pond, they carried out the deceased one piece at a time. CHAPTER 6 - Feedback Loop
By Wednesday afternoon, Sam had started thinking of the pre-workout as something more than a supplement. That was probably not good.
She knew that in the abstract, in the same detached, sensible part of her brain that still understood calories, prescriptions, warning labels, and the general inadvisability of forming emotional attachments to orange powder sold in a tub that looked like it belonged beside protein bars and bad decisions. But knowing something was probably not good did very little to stop the low, eager hum that moved through her body when she unscrewed the lid of Helix Labs IGNITE and the sharp artificial citrus smell rose into the kitchen.
The scent hit her before the scoop even sank into the powder and her shoulders rolled back and heart fluttered. Sam froze with the scoop in her hand and looked down at herself.
“Oh my god,” she muttered. “That is genuinely embarrassing.”
“What is?” Mark asked from the other side of the island.

[VME] [Kriegdammerung] Iranian Civil War, Part 1
Excerpt from A History of Iran: World War II to Damavand by Mojtaba Khameini...despite the importance placed on the Battle of Tajrish, especially in official post-war revisions of Iranian history, a substantial argument has been made by several historians that by the time that Crown Prince Cyrus Reza was taking the throne, the Iranian Civil War had already been fought in de facto for the last month or so. By 1981, the imperial government in Tehran had virtually no control over most of the northwest of the country, and while the people’s republics in Kurdistan and (later) ‘Azadestan’ were only officially declared when Shah Cyrus was cro...

Ultimate F-ZERO: Chapter 12
Miru, Becky, and Scorlio were gathered together at the base, where Becky went over their upcoming race. "In a little bit over the coming weekend, we can expect to go to Big Blue. That's where our next race will be." "Big Blue...oh, joy." Scorlio said, placing his head on the table. Miru couldn't help but laugh to herself. Becky caught the disease, and joined in the laughter. Scorlio looked up, and said, "What do you find so funny? Metadroids are incompatible with water! Big Blue is 90% water!" Miru was still laughing, but Becky stopped. She found Miru's enjoyment inappropriate now. "Miru," she said, "You heard what he just said?" "Yeah?" "...

2Rei’s heart was pounding. She was disorientated and gasping for breath. An assailant jumped on her back and put his arms around her neck and arm. She grit her teeth and broke his grip on her arm and grabbed his arm around her neck and flipped him onto his back on the ground in front of him.
“You loose.” She said with a smile and helped him back up.“Damn…I was close to beating you, wasn’t I?” The attacker was one of the crewmen.“Yes, you were. Keep practicing and you might actually beat me next time we have a sparing match.”“When is the next time we can have a sparing match anyway?” Rei thought about it briefly in her head. “You know, for ...

Food in the Dreamlands
Copyright (C) 2013 by Kevin L. O'BrienAs in the Waking World, Dreamers and residents of the Dreamlands require three things to survive: water, food, and shelter. The presented order is not accidental. Most people accept as a matter of consensus that no one can survive more than three days without water, that people can survive at least three weeks without food, and that in temperate climes they can survive at least three months without adequate shelter. However, a number of different factors can affect these estimates. For example, a person's overall health determines how long they can go before needing water or food, and the local environ...
