John paused as something unexpectedly flashy and colorful caught his eye. He'd been on his way to the grocery store, just a short walk from his apartment, when he noticed what appeared to be an arcade cabinet or a slot machine of all things just standing in the middle of an alleyway. He frowned and curiously approached it. Despite the fact that the machine didn't appear to be plugged into anything, and in fact had an unplugged power cord curled protectively around its base like a tail, the machine was somehow fully powered and currently on. The digital screen read "REALITY LOTTERY" in bold, brightly colored letters, and there were little decorations of objects flashing in between two different states all over it, like a dog that kept turning into a cat and a box that was also a ball every other moment.
