Sheria was sitting in a rocking chair in a nursery room, Ryan walks in to see her holding their baby in a pink blanket. Raising his new born daughter kiara. Ryan looks down at his baby daughter who was sleeping, he uses his finger to stroke her cheek and little kiara cooed. It was a downfall for the justice league and to all superheroes but we were lucky to have hawkgirl by our side....after Ryan Choi retired Sheria continued her role as hawkgirl, she would do all the crime fighting while Ryan went back to his job as being a scientist at Ivy university and looked after his daughter but this was hard for Aquaman...but he never stopped to persuade Ryan to come back as the atom. Three years later at ivy university... "So, you think you're tough, huh? Do you punk? Well you don't know who you're dealing with, I am dr. Kiara points out to the tv babbling about her mom and she looks up at her dad who was smiling. "Yeah look, That's your mom" then as Ryan gets close to the tv, he and kiara puts their hands against the screen, "I'm so proud of her" And as Ryan was thinking of all the adventures he had...his moment was interrupted by his cell phone. But on the phone was Aquaman, "ahoy there professor Aquaman here" "Oh...hey Aquaman" Usually Ryan would get annoyed by Aquaman but over time he's been with his daughter has made him grown soft. They see Batman reaching the top, with kiara in his arms softly, he hands kiara back to Ryan. "Didn't anyone tell you not to throw a baby, here yo go dr. Choi" Ryan was relived when he holds kiara back, "thank so much Batman" Then he glared to Aquaman who was looking nervous. "Aquaman I told you I'm not going back to being a hero" "Sorry professor I thought she would be like her mother" "Sorry to bother you Ryan but the league needs your help" Ryan could see how desperate Aquaman and Batman was, but he looks down at his daughter, he needed to out his daughter first. "My answer is final Aquaman, now if you would excuse me, it's time for kiara's bedtime" Ryan takes kiara to his bed and pats her down, Aquaman was about to say something when he gets an idea. After Ryan puts her to bed, Aquaman snatches kiara and takes her to the justice league headquarters. Everyone gathered around to pay attention to kiara, they cooed her. "You do know when Ryan finds out you kidnapped his child he isn't going to be happy with you" Batman says. "Now I didn't kidnap her, I just merely borrowed her and besides this will be good for him, he'll see what he's missing out on" Later, Ryan was talking to hawkgirl as he was cleaning his office. "No everything is fine, I got everything under control" Ryan said as sheria was worried the baby would be too much for him. "Ok so how's the baby" she asked. He walks up to him and puts kiara down. Both Ryan and hawkgirl were terrified when they went to the scene of the crime. The last place she was in a closet where the door was busted open and a large hole was revealed and Batman was analyzing some strange red trail the kidnapper left behind. "Some kind of liquid the kidnappers left behind" Batman says as he gets a sample. Ryan Aquaman and hawkgirl were horrified by this horrible scene. But hawkgirl was angry and she blamed Aquaman for it. "I hope you realized this is all your fault" she accused him. "My fault?" As the two argued, Ryan was hurt that kiara was kidnapped, his one job to be a dad and he let his only daughter down, he bends down to pick up something that belong to her, it was a golden bracelet with a red ruby, it was a gift from Ryan on the day she was born. As he grabs it, he holds on tight thinking about her. He realized he needed to do his job and save his daughter. "If you haven't brought her here, our daughter wouldn't have gotten kidnapped" "Well if you haven't changed atom to retiring this wouldn't have happened" "Of course everyone says you wouldn't agree to his arrangement because you couldn't handle the fact that Ryan is happy with his new life" "Atom was doing fine till you took his life away" Ryan was getting irritated, "ok enough, we need to find who kiara is with" He approached hawkgirl, "and our relationship isn't a contest" And after some Deduction, Batman lead Ryan hawkgirl and Aquaman to a secret hideout in central city. Ryan was about to have a talk with hawkgirl, "I need to know, is our relationship even real" A lot of questions hit Ryan's head, he only wants to know the truth but he could see the shameful look on sheria's face. "Of course it is, all I ever wanted was a family, I just wish Aquaman would see that" Ryan feels what she felt, "I know Aquaman is a bit much but he is my friend" Just then batman gets in front of them, "ok I tracked down the trail that the kidnapper left behind" "Have you identified it" Ryan asked. "Yes...it's blood" "Blood?" They were all shocked. "Now what kind of villain could leave a trail of blood" Aquaman asked. "Maybe he's a clumsy villain" hawkgirl answered. A table with a chemistry test, a blackboard with the equation to reduplicate blood cells and for changing blood cells, it also a equation for curing cancer. "What is all this stuff" Aquaman asked as he was shocked as Ryan. "I don't know: chemicals, energetic energy, equation for blood cells, looks like someone wants to cure blood cancer" "But who would-" Aquaman asked. Just then Ryan sees kiara in a glass chamber hooked with wires. "Kiara?" Ryan was relived to see her, he and Aquaman ran to the glass trying to free her. "Who would want to kidnap her" "Not who...what?" Then they heard a mysterious voice. They looked around to see who was speaking then suddenly something spills on the floor from the celling. They see it was a blood monster with a skull head. Ryan and Aquaman were horrified by this strange creature, but kiara quivers then she starts to cry. "Fear me for I am: bloodwork" "Who are you and what do you want with my daughter" "My name is Ramsey Rosso" "Are you?" Aquaman was wondering what he was. "Blood yes, when I was a kid I was diagnosed with a disease called hemophiliac, I had an emergency on the playground and almost died from the amount of blood loss i had from a cut from there I got a job at the morgue in Central City but it wasn't enough, I began experimenting with the properties of blood, I wanted the pain to end but every experiment I tried led to a familiar, but then that's when I made a discovery, I needed a blood transfusion it took some time but I invented a machine that would turn me back to normal and give me the life I do truly deserve I just need the right blood donor with the blood type I needed, AB negative, and that's when your daughter came in, I went to the hospital and found your daughter was the perfect candidate to cure me, it was a cinch that I would find her her in the justice league headquarters, it was a great idea to bring her there for me to grab" Ryan glares at Aquaman who shrugs and smiles nervously. "With your daughter's sacrifice, she could save me, with the pull of the lever I'll take the blood I need and transfer onto me" bloodwork heads to the lever. "No! you can't, she's just a baby" "This baby is the key to my solution and there is nothing you can do to stop me" But before he could, Ryan charged at him and punches bloodwork, but bloodwork wasn't enraged and tries to attack Ryan. "That's it professor, knock him out" Ryan blocks bloodwork morph sword like hand with a broken table leg. "Aquaman! Kiara!" "Right right" Aquaman tries to free kiara from the glass but bloodwork was threatened and he grabs Ryan and throws him to Aquaman. "AH" when they both fell to the ground, bloodwork was about to pull the lever. Then suddenly hawkgirl came crashing down, she swings her mace to bloodwork. "Ugh" he gets up and glares at her. "Stay away from my daughter you giant blood clot" As hawkgirl keeps bloodwork busy, Ryan regains consciousness, he saw hawkgirl was fighting bloodwork so he grabbed the table's leg and he smashed the glass not too hard that'll cut kiara. Bloodwork saw the glass broke and Ryan grabs kiara. "Corn on kiara let's get you out of here, daddy's got you" "NO!" Bloodwork smack hawkgirl a crossed the room. Aquaman saw and he felt worried for her, "HAWKGIRL, that does it have at me you blood scalawag" but when Aquaman charge at bloodwork, he was slammed into hawkgirl. Ryan tried to escape with kiara, he held her but he stopped when bloodwork morphs into slime and slithered underneath him and gets in front of him. "Ah" Ryan panicked as he held kiara closed as she cries, he buried her head in neck, he backed away, he looks around to see what he could defend himself with. Then three batarangs hit his back, they beeped and exploded. "AH" bloodwork screams in pain which gave Ryan enough time to escape. Then bloodwork turns around to see Batman standing behind him. "Ramsey rosso, this blood craving experiment is over" he then throws another batarang at him, expanding a net and hoisting him up high. "You'll be doing hard time in black gate penitentiary" Bloodwork struggled to release himself from the net, but since he is calming down, he's gotten weaker by comparison. Hawkgirl and Aquaman walked up to them, hawkgirl then grabs bloodwork one the net and flies him to prison. Ryan then approach Aquaman, "professor i must apologize, I'm sorry I didn't mean for kiara to get kidnapped I just wanted to remind you what great times we had when we used to work together, Aquaman and the atom" But this time, Ryan wasn't mad, "it's ok Aquaman I know you didn't mean and sometimes...I miss being a hero, helping people stoping bad crooks" Even Ryan admits there are some times when he missed being a hero. Unfortunately hawkgirl heard, "what? You missed being a superhero, why didn't you tell me, I would've wanted you too" Aquaman's hope we're raise up high, "but we have a child, one of us has to take care of Kiara and I know how you would've wanted to go out in the field to prove to our daughter female empowerment" "Yes but remember she's your daughter too, you have to teach her there are fights worth fight for and as long you watch kiara or at least spends time with her that's all right with me" After everything, they went home, Ryan wore a white shirt he was asleep in bed with kiara next to him, it's been a long day for him after he shiera Aquaman and Batman saved her. And far from the bedroom, Batman and Aquaman were in the table drinking coffee. "Well we better wake up Ryan" Aquaman goes to wake him up but shiera stops her. "Actually I think Ryan has been through enough already, he deserves some sleep...with kiara" In the bedroom, he had his big strong arm wrapped around kiara, kiara holds on tight to him...then behind her back...her wings started to sprout.
