 Urgh…. I’ve been trying to book my tickets for almost a day. How are all flights either cancelled or full ? Guess my best bet is to go wait at the airport and hope my waitlist clears. “Is there anyway I can get on a flight ?” - I asked the check in desk lady. A striking woman, either her counter had a step stool or she was like tall and broad. She said “sir , all flights are booked.” Dejected , I thought of using my sweet smile and appealing to her “it’s okay, thank you mam- I just wish I could get to my wife, it’s our anniversary after all.” She took a deep breadth and looked like she was trying to do something, then, she picked up her phone and started texting. She looked me up and down and texted a bit more. Then she asked, “is your wife going to come and pick you up at the airport ?” Thats a weird question for an airline to ask. I said “yes” . She said to write down my wife’s name and phone number. She said “I don’t usually do this but I am upgrading you sir .” I was elated - “premium economy or first class”. She smiled and said “it’s a special seat please proceed to gate.”. My boarding pass just said L. She grabbed my really heavy bags really easily.  Boarding time approached as I headed to my gate. Still unsure how to board , what is my group ? Gate agent announced - “we are beginning boarding - Mr. Singh, please approach the counter.” I obliged. They asked me for my carry ons and said they’ll be available near my seat. Somehow even that guy was coy and didn’t give me more details. A strikingly beautiful air hostess , almost 6 feet tall in her heels, dirty red hair, blue eyes, walked up to me and said “Mr. Singh ?” I said “yes”, she said “it’s time”. I am taking you with me if you just let me carry you without a scene or you can wait for next available flight 2 days from now. I reluctantly sighed and nodded in agreement.  I was mesmerized by how strong this woman was . I have lifted my wife like this and can’t keep up more than 2 minutes , here she was casually walking. I said please don’t let him see me ….. she turned around and hid me as she said excuse me and entered the plane with ease. Embarassment was high but I was starting to get too comfortable being carried like this . He no nonsense demeanor and apparent lack of effort was so disarming. She set me on a business class seat and said she’ll be right back and put a hand on my cheek reassuringly. This was the most comfortable seat in the plane no. Huge screen , so much leg room.
