[PoC: The Beginning] - Sno-Way!
At first, Asra saw the gray skies and assumed they'd be getting more rain, but then the sharp scent hit her nose when she stepped out, snow. It clumped between her toes uncomfortably, she shook her paws but stubborn particles remained attached to her fur. She had to chew the rest out, nibbling at the fur nearest to her paw pads where the small ice droplets started to take shape at the ends of the hairs.
Oh no, it was time. The first snowfall of the year.
The air was bitter cold, the snow a blinding white, gathering on rooftops, trees, potted plants, and statues… She preferred the tamer golds and browns of autumn. Maybe she should take a shot at hibernation, sleeping through this horrible weather would be wonderful. You wouldn't risk hypothermia taking a step outside if you just ate ten times your body weight and slept through to the next season! Too bad felvargs couldn't teach themselves to hibernate. Maybe a really long nap, if anything.
Quickly, she ducked back inside. She

He had never stepped a paw onto this piece of Ulfrheim before, as many would cower seeing a giant Hellhound lurking. Even he could be considered worse than the hungry and hostile forests protecting the peace in Skalaness. Despite this, Velerustus still wanted to grab some food to take for when he wanted to venture out again. Running on an empty belly was just asking for himself to get hurt, and Vel wasn’t a fan of risk. Exhaling calmly, he stepped his paws further into the village, struggling to keep himself low. Many Fels were conversing among each other about the cold weather biting onto their pelts, with many excited for the arrival of snow. The Hellhound wiggled his ears silently while spectating the conversing, a freezing breeze brushing up against his own silken fur. ”First snow.” He uttered

Risks and Rewards of Emotions in Decision-Making
"The path to power and conquest is fraught with challenges and complexities that demand astute judgment and decisive action. In the heart of this intricate web lies a fundamental question: what role do emotions play in our decision-making processes? While many would claim that emotions are a hindrance to logic and reason, I have come to understand that emotions, if harnessed correctly, can be a powerful ally in achieving our objectives."-The Dual Nature of Emotion-"Emotion is a double-edged sword, a force that can both inspire and cloud our judgment. It can drive us to greatness, fueling our ambition and propelling us to overcome obstacles. However, unchecked emotions can also lead to impulsive decisions, clouding our logical thinking and steering us away from our potentialThe key lies in mastering our emotions rather than allowing them to master us. By recognizing the power of emotion, we can leverage it to enhance our decision-making without allowing it to distort our

Chapter Two
Kamenya
Kamenya yelped in pain as the human stabbed him with the metal tool, quickly withdrawing a steady stream of blood from the dragon. “Ouch! That hurts!” “Deal with it,” the human growled, “or I’ll stab ye again.” Kamenya held quiet as the human held a cup up to his wing where the wound had been formed. He was a Blood Maker, a dragon set aside and forced to produce blood for the Human Kingdom to use in its war against the Elven and Dwarven Kingdoms. He was always chained to a wall, and fed and watered enough for him to produce a constant supply of blood, on demand for whenever the humans wanted some. He supposed it could’ve been worse, if he had been a Scale Maker or a Horn Maker. That one was the worst-having one’s head horns lobbed off, only for a sorcerer to grow them back before the dragon bled out or got infected. Or, they could’ve forced him to do the torture job, of torturing Elven and Dwarven prisoners against his will, or part of the breeding program to create new, more advanced dragons. Luckily, they let him, like the other dragons in this detention block, have a very old, cheap cloth to hide his tail region, while the females had an additional covering about the chest, which Kamenya thought was odd because dragons didn’t have any special things there like humanoids. But, it was hard to imagine his position as being good, either. Being chained to a wall for twenty-odd years, ever since he could remember, wasn’t a pleasant situation to be in. He glanced at an empty spot on the wall across from him, where Neela, one of his two sisters, had been a few weeks ago. She had said she felt sick, and the humans took her to the sorcerer to “be put right,” only to never be seen again. He hoped that she would come back somehow, but he had a sinking feeling that wouldn’t be the case. Eventually, the human was finished getting blood from him, and left him alone with the one other prisoner here: Lila. She, like him, had been a prisoner for forever, like all the dragons, and since she was his one and only surviving sister, he often would be chatting with her when no humans were around to slap them as a punishment. “That wasn’t so bad this time, right?” she asked. “No. This time they only made one cut. A week ago, they wanted more so they made five. But… I wish Neela was here.” Lila nodded, her bright green tail reaching out to nearly touch his white one. “Almost there. Sorry, but I was distracted, just wondering if I could do it. You were saying something?” “Yeah. I miss Neela.” “Same here. I bet those rotten humans killed her, and they haven’t told you yet because they think you’ll go crazy and escape.” Kamenya raised an eyebrow. “Seriously? Escape? How? There’s no way out of here. Nobody escapes, not anyone.” Lila shook her head. “Not quite. There… there is a way, that I’ve been saving for a while. You see, every year at about this time, the humans have a little festival where they get knockout drunk and can’t guard so much as a sack of snowfruit. Then, tonight I think, we make out escape.” “Bah! With what? We’re still chained up.” Lila chuckled. “That’s where the secret part comes in. The part the humans don’t know-yet. And, apparently, you don’t know, either. I can breathe fire hot enough to melt their weak steel. Anytime I want, I can just go and escape through the sewer system, through the hole in the wall over there, but I’m waiting for tonight, so that I can get us out of here. Maybe I can free some of the other prisoners as well, but that’s a bit risky, since I don’t know if I could get everyone out.”
Kamenya whistled. “Fire breath, huh? I thought that wasn’t real.” “It is, it’s just very rare. One in a thousand. The humans especially prize fire-breathing dragons, since our breath is nice for forging very powerful metal. But I guess we’ll find out in a minute, since I think it’s nighttime soon.” “Nighttime. You know, I don’t think I’ve ever seen what ‘nighttime’ looks like.” “Me neither, brother. Do you ever imagine what it looks like?” “Yeah. Every day. Although, I have seen some pictures of it. It’ll be a very different thing to see it in the flesh, though. If we have a chance to escape tonight… wow. That would definitely be something amazing. So, so, so amazing. But anyway… should we bring anyone with us?” Kamenya shook his head. “No. I… actually, it would be amazing if we could save some of the other dragons I’ve seen in here, and keep them from being taken like Neela, but… as the humans say, if you stop to help a friend, you risk the entire battle. If we spend too much time helping other dragons, we might lose our chance to escape and get captured again anyway. Maybe, if we escape we can come back, but… let’s just get out of here, you and me, and see what happens. Speaking of which, is it time?” Lila froze for a moment, tilting her ear to the doorway, and nodded. “Yeah. I can hear the humans starting to party. We need to leave now, while they’re distracted.”
Kamenya watched in fascination as the dragoness spat red-gold energy at the chains around her wrists, which melted right through the metal and made it easy to pull away, like pulling apart hot butter. Then came the ones on her ankles that held her to the ground. A few more drops of heat, and they were no longer a problem. “Woah,” Lila said, trembling momentarily on her feet. “It’s been a while since I’ve been able to walk without permission. My ankles are a little weak.” “Take as much time as you need,” Kamenya said, admiring how interesting her face looked in the torchlight. “Uh, just don’t take any longer though. We need to escape, you know.” Lila nodded, catching her breath before standing on her hind legs in front of Kamenya. Dragons could easily walk on two legs like humans when they wanted, but it wasn’t as comfortable as walking on four. However, Lila didn’t look uncomfortable as she stepped towards Kamenya. She smiled, touching a scar on his pale white chest with her soft green claw. “Oof. That looks painful.” “It was. Chains, please?” “Tsk tsk tsk. How impatient. Sure, I’ll free you.” Lila seemed disappointed about not being able to touch Kamenya’s ribs anymore, and spat more fire on his iron chains. Kamenya noticed that it wasn’t necessarily fire breath, but more like lava spit. When the chains snapped, Kamenya lost his balance, and fell into Lila, nearly knocking her to the ground. “Woah, there, Kamenya,” she whispered, holding him against her belly and chest. “Careful. Hard to believe we came from the same nest, with your puny muscles. Aren’t males supposed to be strong? Anyway… never mind.. We need to go. Now. Luckily, the humans rarely block the sewer entrance here, since they never think we’d ever go in there.” She gently helped Kamenya get close to the pit. It led to a tunnel that was full of not-very-pleasant water, but at least it would be an easier journey than going through waves of human warriors. “Ew,” Kamenya said, hesitating to jump. “What if we get sick?” “Does it matter? It’s better than being in here! And besides, we’re dragons. We’re supposed to be immune to disease-or immune to human diseases, anyway. Come on!” He yelped as she jumped, tugging him along with her into the smelly water below. Kamenya wanted to gag in the water, but then he would drown in the stuff, and he did not want to die that way. He felt a tugging on his wing, pulling his head above water, and followed it to find that Lila had dragged him to the edge of the sewer. “Over here, Kamenya,” she said, coughing as well as she swam, before climbing onto a stone ledge and pulling him along with her. “Ewww,” Kamenya whined, feeling the horrid things on his skin. He wished he had brought a suit of armor before jumping in. “I know,” Lila said, peeling a dried fruit skin off her nose. “It’s not the end of the world, though. And besides, we can just find a lake somewhere to wash off in. There’s supposed to be plenty out there.” Kamenya nodded, and got to his feet. “Time to get going, then. The sooner we can get washed off, the better. He led the way through the tunnel, following the path of the junky water. Then, up ahead, he thought he saw something. It looked like… light? It wasn’t like a torchlight, but white and pale. And, it seemed like a little water was falling down between him and the light source, because he could see the light ripple. He hesitantly walked forward, the light becoming the only thing he could see in the pitch blackness, before he went under the mini waterfall and felt-thank the heavens-the water run over him, washing off the gunk from the sewer. He sighed in relief and closed his eyes, feeling the sensation of being clean again, before he felt a tail poke into his belly. “Look,” Lila said, smiling and pointing at the light. “Look at it. It’s the Rings.” Kamenya looked where she was pointing, and gasped. He… he didn’t know how to describe what he was seeing, really. The room he had always known was literally the biggest thing he had seen, so he was not prepared for the immense, vast expanse ahead of him. The ground seemed to go on forever, only broken up by bits of land sticking out of the ground-mountains, he had heard them he called-and those green things… trees, were they? Up, above the whole incredible, gigantic area, was a massive band of bright white light, stretching across the sky among a backdrop of a million little points of light. “The Rings,” he whispered, looking at it. Everyone, even he, knew about them. Crafted by the gods at the dawn of time, the Rings were a set of white, pale objects that spanned the sky like gigantic rings. In the day, they were a dull gray or brown against the blue sky, but at night, they were a striking object up there, illuminating everything with their glow.
“Wow,” he said, frozen in amazement, gawking at the Rings and the stars and the mountains and trees. “This is incredible. I can’t believe this is what we were missing out on. And to think, if the humans hadn’t imprisoned and tormented us, this could’ve been what I’d go to sleep under. Wow. Can we stay?” “Silly Kamenya,” Lila said. “The Rings will always be there, wherever we go. But we have to run, before the humans find out we’re gone. See, once they do, they’ll go searching for us, and the more distance we can put between us and them, the better.” Kamenya nodded. “Alright then. But once we’re far enough away, I want to stop and look at everything.” Lila nodded. “I get it. Don’t worry-I want to stop and admire the outside world as much as you do. Now, let’s get going. Those forests will be a great cover as we go escape.” Kamenya followed the green dragoness into the woods, through the trees and into the darkness that was occasionally lit up by the Rings’ light coming in between the leaves. The dragon relished in feeling his talons press into the mud for the first time ever, literally, a very different feeling than the stone bricks he had always known. He could barely see Lila’s green tail among the trees, since the pale Ring light made it look like just another leaf, but he could easily hear her movement, and followed along by his ears. The brother and sister kept on going, and although Kamenya’s feet began to ache, he didn’t care. He was free, once and for all. “Hey, we’re at the mountains now,” Lila whispered. “That means we’re pretty far away from the human castle. We should be alright if we find a cave to hide in.” “Yeah. Wait. I think I see one over there, a little ways up the mountain. Let’s go check it out.” Kamenya eagerly climbed up the mountainside, before crawling into a cleft in the rock face. It was pretty spacious, and plenty big enough for the two of them. “This seems pretty nice,” Lila said. “Perfect place to hide for the night. There’s the minor inconvenience that the ground here isn’t very nice to lie on, but that’s a small price to pay for freedom.” “Besides, it won’t be too bad if you use your wings to cushion your body against the floor.” Kamenya lay down on the ground for what felt like the first time in months, a sensation that he was going to enjoy to the fullest, whether the ground was soft or not. He smiled, feeling free from the endless pain and fear of slavery for once, until he remembered that not all was well. Somewhere out there, Neela was hiding. Perhaps in a cave like this, or in a forest, or somewhere else. “I wonder where Neela is,” Kamenya rolled over to face Lila, who was setting herself on a mossy rock face. “I wish my sister was here,” he said. “Same here. Knowing her, she wouldn’t let those nasty humans touch a single scale on her body without a fight. Who knows? Maybe, somewhere out here, she’s busy springing a rescue effort to save dragonkind.” “If only,” Kamenya muttered to himself. He wished she was truly alive somewhere, but he didn’t need a false dream stealing his attention from the task at his talons: surviving, and hiding from the ravenous humans, hungry for conquest and dragon blood to fuel their wars. The two of them needed to survive... and, if possible, save as many other dragons as possible.

THE BATTLE OF SEXES PART 1
That place was forbidden to men. A group of feminist women and bodybuilders had founded a colony there only for women. The men were terribly harassed by the muscular women and if they were caught they were beaten ferociously without mercy and brutally, in addition to being humiliated and forced to serve the women until they got tired. And then expelled with the promise of never returning under the risk of being killed if they were caught in that place again. The women were led by a strong, terrible and very fierce Swedish bodybuilder called Ertha, the Demolisher. A fierce admirer of the Amazons and had Penthesilea, the cruel queen of the legendary tribe of warrior women who hated men as her idol. Ertha was extremely cruel and was considered, as she herself used to say, the most powerful and strongest woman in the world. She preached the superiority of women over the men whom she despised and hated. For her and her followers, men were nothing more than a mere slave. of crawling and
