TOMB RAIDER : I'm Not Going Home. by SeanNash TOMB RAIDER : I'm Not Going Home. by SeanNash
To those of you who have seen the end of the game, I'm hoping you know where I've tried to go with this piece, Basically its my version of the sequel, or some sort of adventure which takes place after the Island. All I can think about is how she would look, and I started sketching up some ideas, putting off my uni work again. But the ending of the game had me thinking so much, how people influenced her and how she becomes who she is.

Within this piece I really wanted to keep the background simple , showing off Lara with a mix of the new Lara and our classic Lara with dual Pistols. The Bow is one I drew inspired by the Compound bow, I research recurve bows and found there design was much more appealing, So i decided to use a recurve bow instead of a big bulky compound bow which I kinda disliked in the game. The idea was to keep it really close to the new design of Lara but with some modifications just for fun :giggle:

The colors were inspired by Sam Spratt's piece for the special Art for Tomb Raider as I fell in love with the piece and it really inspired me to keep to his color schemes and style just to see if I could do it as a personal challenge.

So yeah! I hope you like it! :aww:

Brushes from - Dirt2.com
Painted in Corel Painter 12 - Oil Brushes and Glow FX brush
Edited in Corel Photoshop Pro X5/

No Textures used in this, as I challenged myself to create the piece without them - The bushes I use a lot within my work is the 'Pointed Stump Blender brush' and 'Tapered Oils Brushes' and also the 'Fx glow and Pencil Brushes' the dirt effects were from the 'Gel Brushes' which I find really handy. All these brushes are default brushes within Corel Painter 12.

alksgkdfjgg;djfg I just played that game and now I'm playing it again because it was SO GOOD.

Your art does the young Lara justice!! (I'm glad you used the recurve bow too, those compound contraptions are so clunky...)

It's awesome!! (Though I'm biiiiased because my mother never let my brother and I have video games growing up... So I never played any of the other ones...)

I think recurve bows are just awesome. :la: I took an archery class in college and I used a 15 lb recurve bow most of the semester. It definitely suits Lara too, she just looks goofy with the compound bows. :XD:

So have you never played any Tomb Raider games until the newest one?
I have to say the classic games still holds something that they can't seem to capture again,:worry: But I'm hoping for old fans, And new fans like yourself that they eventually get that old Tomb Raider feeling. The old Tomb Raider 2 was by far my fave game :)

That is amazing! I wish I had taken an archery class :tears: Maybe I will someday! :D Yeah the recurve bow was something I copied from a Tv Program called Arrow! I just love his Bow in that! :) Much better than the big awkward compound bows.

No, I haven't. I really want to but I'm not sure how to go about doing that... I really want to play them!! D:

I loved that class! I highly encourage you to learn, it's really fun! I'm actually researching to buy my own recurve... eventually... I miss shooting. I'll have to go find Arrow, I don't watch many TV shows, but I remember that one had looked good! :la:

Yeah its hard now, as all the classice games are so old the graphics feel almost unbearable, I'm sure you could watch some footage on youtube, I know the Tomb Raider : Anniversary game is a remake of the first ever game, You should check that out, give you an idea of the old games.

Oh yeah check it out! Arrow is amazing :woohoo: Some bits remind me soo much of the new Tomb Raider game, he's shipwrecked on an Island for 5 years, plotting his revenge, then when He returns he's all butt king! :matrixfight: and Amazing with the Bow and arrow!!!

Yeah! I think you can Anniversary for PC too :D and they still have it for PS2 as it was released as a low budget game so the graphics were still pretty low.

This certainly is beautiful work, my only remark is her face is a bit cleaner than her body, some dirt or cuts would have enhanced the beauty in this image, but it is amazing, her body work is gorgeous and then blending is great. Id like to see more from you

I totally agree with you :) Thanks for pointing that out, I think I spent to much time focusing on blending the image and everything around it, and overlooked the small details. I'm gonna do further work on it today on my lunch brake . :thanks:
