Little Mermaid by SeanNash Little Mermaid by SeanNash
Inspired by the little mermaid, Disney, I always loved how Ariel was such a collector, or a hoarder in ways. I decided to keep to the original colour of the character using red hair and blues and purple, and teal. I tried my best to make it as realistic as I could, but I'm still learning everyday. The piece was something I always wanted to work on as Ariel was in ways an interesting character because she wanted to see so much in the world.

I painted Jewelry around her neck to show the collection she's found among many of her adventures.

I used Corel Paint 12, Jasc and photoshop for editing. Oil Brushed and acrylics.

I second the top of the skull under the hair is to short, but otherwise she looks great and so much more realistic than most painted/drawn mermaids, and somehow rather scary.

One of your most fantastic pieces yet, but the top of her head needs to be taller - it looks like her skull stops two inches above her eyebrows.
