It hides in tall grass, waiting for prey to pass by, before swiftly snapping its powerful jaws to bring it down in one motion. When food is scarce, it will seek out food with others of its kind, teaming up to bring down Pokemon much larger than itself. The sharp claws on their limbs enable them to both hold onto, and climb further up prey in order to bring it down. However, once the kill is made, they will return to their solitary, territorial demeanor, and fight over their share of food.

The theme for it is "Fish out of Water", so the goal was to make a fakemon that, while based on some sort of fish, wasn't either a Water type or water-dwelling creature.
I eventually came up with the idea for a barracuda-based fakemon, eventually throwing in elements of Velociraptors to make it more land-friendly. So, obviously the origin of the name stems from "BARrAcuda" and "CRUDe".
