These colorful, dung-eating mutants seem to crave the sound of laughter, and when their incessant slapstick antics fail to amuse, a squeeze of their sonic horn-hand can induce painful hysterics in their audience whether willing or not.
A Grindrome's lungs produce a highly flammable helium-like gas, used to blow fireballs or inflate colorful "balloons" from the monster's own rubbery phlegm. This also gives the Grindrome an extremely squeaky voice, which it tends to find much more amusing than anyone else does.
A Grindrome "deflates" noisily if its brain-stalk is severed, but will slowly grow a new body from the remaining brain.
This is one of the first redraws where I actually *traced* the original. Nothing was wrong with the design, but my shading and detailing has improved so much since I first drew this guy, and the original was done on nasty, grainy printer paper instead of card stock. After trying and failing several times to replicate the original on a new sheet, I actually flipped a laptop on its back to use its screen as a tracing table D:
If you can find genesis, SNES or GBA games with lots of weird monsters that aren't RPG's and haven't been done by other people (Castlevania and Splatterhouse, for instance, have huge websites already devoted to their graphics)...I pretty much gave up looking after a while, it was getting too hard to find new ones.
