Oh Sh**! (Show Jumping Clinic)

Stacey and Pine take on the Show Jumping Class at Cloverfield's Eventing Fall Clinic.

They'd survived the first day of the clinic without a scratch, had made new friends, and had even taken some time to explore the area. This second day was for Show Jumping, something Stacey loved more than anything.

The class wasn't until the afternoon, so Stacey took some time with just Pine in his stall. She brushed his hair out and gave him all the love he could handle. She'd quickly found out Pine did a lot better after being spoiled a bit. As she was tacking Pine up, a bug buzzed around him. Pine didn't even flinch as it settled on his nose and crawled around. But as the bug turned and buzzed past Stacey's nose, she squealed and nearly tripped over her bag. Pine's ear turned lazily as Stacey glanced towards the stall's entrance. Her newest Clinic Acquaintance stood there, with a look on his face like he was doing his best not to laugh. "Theo...don't you dare laugh." Stacey mumbled. A warmth spread across her face as she turned away from him to pick up the brush she had thrown in her panic.

"So...your horse is more bombproof than you are...good to know." Theo let a few snickers slip out under his breath as he walked off to go gather his own horse.

Stacey gasped as his words processed. She did a very unladylike gesture to his back before moving to finish getting Pine ready.

The class was going okay. A few of the other horses had spooked or were rowdy, but for the most part Pine was well behaved. (she'd slipped him a sweet peppermint candy when their clinician had her back turned...so he was content)

The whole class was watching as the pare made their go at the course. Which of course, was fine. Having an audience wasn't new to her- she'd competed plenty of times. No... the problem came when they headed towards the last jump. It wasn't by any means a tall jump. The bars were basically ground level. But as they started to jump, Pine pushed with all his might, sending them flying over the small jump with plenty of room to spare.

Startled by the powerful jump, Stacey clutched the reins and gasped out some very colorful words. She'd nearly been bounced out of the saddle with that one. It wasn't until they'd landed safely on the other side that Stacey noticed the bug.

A bug had landed on the upper bar..... Pine had jumped to keep Stacey away from the bug.

(A/N: yes, I don't care that it's a bit unrealistic. Sue Me)
