The Drifter cut silently through the darkness, its navigation lights casting pale beams across the endless sea.
No one spoke.
The conversation about STAR lingered in everyone's mind, leaving only the low hum of the engines to fill the cabin.
Ahead, a faint silhouette gradually emerged from the abyss.
Not another habitat.
Their submarine.
Moored in the abyss not far from CE-026, but hundreds of meters deeper.
Its massive hull rested motionless beneath the water, floodlights glowing softly along its sides like a sleeping giant waiting for its crew to return.
Rick rested a hand on the terminal.
"Docking sequence ready."
Vlori nodded, her fingers moving across the controls.
"Aligning... five meters."
The Drifter adjusted its course with a gentle burst from its thrusters.
Three meters.
Two.
One.
A heavy metallic clang echoed through both vessels as the docking clamps locked into place.
The entire cabin trembled slightly.
"Hull secured," Rick
