The Full Weight of Everything by scribblerian The Full Weight of Everything by scribblerian
At the end of Goblet of Fire...

Gosh, Harry's expression was rough to draw, but I'm pretty happy with how he came out - seeing as it was several hours of drawing and redrawing.  It is kind of odd to see an expression like this one as a drawing.  You don't see it often (if at all?)  But I really wanted to try him "screwing up his face against the howl of misery", to quote the book.  This is going to sound weird, but I'm kind of in love his hair and the shape of his head.

I did intend Ron to be in the image (which is why so much detail is to the left, Ron was meant to balance on the right).  I love Ron and I love drawing him, he just wasn't working for this piece.  Maybe he is just at the foot of the bed or something, yes?  So that explains why the composition is crap.

I read the book Ron was a jerk to harry and his mother should have been mad at him in this scene.

also out of curiosity do you take request?

wow, thanks a lot!  I'm quite flattered.  I was worried about how his face looked, it's a weird expression for a drawing.

Yah a lot of people aren't brave enough to draw a realistic crying expression, because people generally look a lot uglier when they cry in real life XD It shows real emotion though, so it's great to see!

haha.  Yes, I admit I was pretty afraid of it!  I wasn't sure if I could distort his features without it looking completely strange.  I guess, as you say, people are uglier when they cry.  I'm glad you like it!  I redrew his face a thousand times before I was satisfied.

This is gorgeous!  I love the fact that Harry's scar is so vivid, as it's really appropriate for this moment in the series.  Well done!

Thanks a lot!  I'm glad you like it.  I wanted his scar to look raw after the ordeal he'd gone through.

thanks for commenting!  It is, I felt a tiny bit vulnerable after drawing it!  But it was good practice, expressions aren't easy.
