I was so impressed by all the love airplane dragons got back when I originally shared my concepts in 2015. Since then, I still see them pop up once in a while. A lot of people ask me if they are an open species. I thought I would make a brand new ref. This image is free for you to repost/share as you want. I wanted it to contain the basic information on them and the rules!!! I hope to make more adopts again in the future as well!
Q: What ARE plane dragons? Airplane dragons, or plane dragons, are a species I made back in 2015. I always liked the idea of anthropomorphic planes, but most of the content around it were aeromorphs, a very specific style of anthro planes I found generally unappealing to my tastes. Airplane dragons then became an experiment if I could take that concept but make it appealing to the public as well as myself, and it worked! Airplane dragons are left vague so that you can create your own canon or imaging of them. It is up to you to decide if you want your airplane dragon to be an organic creature, like an animal, a dragon that happens to look like a plane, an anthropomorphic plane, or mechanical on the insied! While they are not meant to be aeromorphs specifically, I don't mind if you label yours. The only canon I have is that they live in a peaceful, happy society where they have infinite resources they share. They live on and eat clouds, so they all live happy, healthy lives and spend their time being carefree. Fun fact, they also LOVE racing and sometimes have competitive personalities as a result. They live in the skies most of their life, but many will go to the ground of Earth, for whatever reason they have! I might update them with more bits of information and lore, but I want to keep it open for you to make your own! Also, you can simply just make an anthro plane and call it an anthro plane and not it be associated with my species. I don't own the idea of an anthro plane (as aeromorphs exist) I just created a certain stylization of them.
Q: Can I make one? Yep! They are an open species, meaning you do not have to pay or get permission to make one yourself. You can make as many as you would like, commission others to design them for you, make ones for friends.
Q: What are the rules or specifics of designing one? There are no strict rules or limitations of designing an airplane dragon. They are meant to be very open to allow you to design it with all your favorite preferences. Like big claws or little paws? Like commercial airliners or fast jet planes? Or maybe something different like a space shuttle or helicopter? Want it based on an animal? Chubby or buff? Any colors, markings, body types, shapes are allowed. Just PLEASE avoid any designs that could be intentionally or unintentionally offensive or hateful.
Q: How big are they? Any size you like, there is not a set size. They can be sized like a human, or like a real life plane.
Q: How do they fly? That is up to you to decide! I like to imagine them getting a running start as their engines warm up. Is it magic? Is it mechanical jets? Up to you!
Q: What can I use them for? You can draw art of them, write stories, roleplay, sell adoptables and ychs, make and sell merchandise like stickers/pins, they are COMPLETELY open for use! Just be fair, and credit me (as scpkid) when you think is fair. If you want to support me as a thank you or tip me because you used them for profit, you can tip me through ko-fi! (This is NOT required, just a nice gesture!) ko-fi.com/A520JN1
Q: Can I use them for nsfw or kink content? Yes, you may draw, commission, sell art of airplane dragons that is nsfw or kink related
