AbyssWing Trench Map by Scourgeseer AbyssWing Trench Map by Scourgeseer
Hey, that's pretty deep.

This is in order of poorest to richest.

Day City
Population: 3,700
Popular occupations: Prey hunter, taxidermists, merchants, prey watch.

Day City is the second largest but also the poorest city in The Deep. Most dragons there live in squalor, but there are some exceptions, such as the merchants and landlords who benefit off the poor. Predator attacks are most common here, and there is a strict curfew for dragonets under the age of 4.

Population: 1,100
Popular occupations: Prey hunter, merchants, prey watch, weaving, isopod farmers.

Moonmouth is the third smallest city. It is a quiet place, with less turmoil on the streets than their neighbors, Day City. Pet isopods are popular among wealthy and middle class AbyssWings, so most of the isopod breeders do their business there, then sell them to merchants who take them across The Divide and sell them to eager buyers. Turnfins are a common presence near Moonmouth, but they rarely pose a threat inside the city thanks to the predator watchers.

Small Deep
Population: 200
Popular occupations: Prison guard, Peacekeeper training.

Small Deep is the smallest city. There is really nothing there, except for the prison where AbyssWings who have committed crimes are sent to be punished. The only dragons that live there that aren't prisoners are the prison guards, dragons training to be peacekeepers for other cities, and their families.

Irontide Outlook
Population: 250
Popular occupations: Metal workers, miners, blacksmiths, assassins, jewelry sellers.

Irontide Outlook is the second smallest city by a fraction. Thanks to volcanic vents seeping up from the base of the trench, through the side, and billowing up somewhere else, AbyssWings have learned how to forge weapons from the magma. 90% of weapons and metal jewelry is made here, and the city is popular with blacksmiths, weapon dealers, and jewelry sellers. Unknown to the public, this is also where most of the assassins live and do their business.

Twilight City
Population: 10,400
Popular occupations: Merchants, jewelry makers, librarians, philosophers, writers, teachers, business doers in general.

Twilight City is the largest AbyssWing city. It is home to more AbyssWings than all the other cities combined. The bustling metropolis is home to the greatest and most renowned writers, philosophers, and teachers of the tribe. The wealth gap stretches from semi-poor dragons that peddle their business on the street, to nobles who do business with the royal family. There are a few cases of 'whale bones to riches' where a poor AbyssWing caught the eye of a visiting royal, and the two would be married. This is a dream for many less than middle class AbyssWings, because being tied into the royal family would mean they would be boosted to the top (or the bottom) of society. However, this actually happening is rare, because most of the time the Queen has more than enough eager candidates for her bachelor/bachelorette offspring.

Midnight City
Population: 2,300
Popular occupations: Royalty, nobles, law makers, the richest merchants.

Midnight City is the third largest city, but it has more wealth than any of the other cities combined. The city lies at the bottom of the trench, where the pitch darkness, crushing pressure, and looming royalty would scare a normal dragon out of their wits. The royal palace is in the center, where the lights form a spiral that can sometimes be seen from Twilight City on clear days. It is the dream of every AbyssWing to 'sink' and someday live within that great spiral.

Rich Abysswings would have to adapt to living in Midnight City, since they're so close to heat vents and such. Must be quite hot compared to other areas

Irontide is the other hot place. But yeah Midnight City is really stressful to those who weren't born there.

Actually, how did Achylos adapt to the change so quickly?
Scourgeseer Featured By Owner Jul 13, 2017  Hobbyist Digital Artist
before he actually left for the surface, he was acclimating himself to going higher and higher because of restless exploring. so it wasn't a huge shock when the pressure level dropped and so did the temperature.

That does make sense. Still, it must've been quite the rush when he was fleeing from the Turnfins. Thank you
