DeviantArt is terrible at dealing with harassmentI've been wanting to do this for awhile, but I never felt... pushed into it, but lately this has been on my mind more and more. If a troll (or worse) wants to harass me, they will do so on DeviantArt more than any other website. While it is true that I am more active on DeviantArt than some other websites, it's not the place I am the most active. I get harassed here more than say... YouTube, where my main base is, or on my website where I am the only moderator.
The main reason more harassment happens here than anywhere else is because DeviantArt is the absolute worst of the mainstream social media platforms at dealing with harassment. Now for context, I have dealt with many many trolls over time. Some of them I've needed to go to websites to deal with, and sometimes it has gotten so bad that I did need to talk to law enforcement.

Fuck Article 13.Normally I don't write politics-centred journals on this account but this time I feel like it's important, especially as someone who currently resides in Europe.welp... this sucks.
Today, the EU Parliament decided to vote in favour of Article 13. If you don't know what Article 13 is, it's a bullshit law that only rich corporate hacks and people with severe brain damage could possibly support. Yes, it's the infamous "meme killer". But it's more than just that, it's a censorship machine that will silenciate the internet as we know it, and any and all forms of media that may be considered "copyright infringement", like remixes of songs, videos, art or many others, will dissapear from the internet FOREVER. In other words, European artists on DA, including me, will be fucked over by a monster that kills our freedom of expression and freedom of speech as artists! It's totalitarian and orwellian. 1984 was not a fucking manual you morons!
