This is actually a cryptid from Rhodesia that resembles a pterosaur. It may be some kind of huge stork or bat.

Always good to see some fine monster art, especially when it's based on a real-world cryptid.

I don't think Creaturespot would accept me, but thanks anyway :)

As for time
An hour or so to sketch, assuming it's approved I guess an afternoon to paint one... and like I said I'm trying to slow down a lot more. :)

Im sure they will super accept ya, they took me 4 months ago ( after I was sendin my new pic everytime to Davi hopin to be invited) and your monsters are much better..dunno which are their conditions, but your creatures are between the more awesome I see around..

Really impressin u did that pic in a day, I am so much slower...any pic I post, except speedpaints, is done in days and days..
U tryn to slow down? u mean goin slower or workin less? Cause the pic works well, I think it has the good details/size relationship

Thanks for your answers dude, and sorry for my messages bombin..

I promise I ll keep quiet for a while!! ;)

A day is super slow for one image like this.. but yeah I'm slowing down to improve, that's the plan :)

lol, talk away matey, I'm always happy to chat to ya :)

I have the slow/ fast balance problem too. Mostly I spend 80% of time during composition, erasig and redoing and retryng stuff 1000 times...then I start having fun and go for details and strong lights..
but I really can lose tons of hours just on some little stupid decision, like putting a hand up or down..I should faster the composition maybe,.,

Heh, I spend very little time on composition, which is one of my main failings.. summink I need to sort out bably to be honest.

summink I need to sort out bably to be honest-couldnt translate this...

but yeah it s even one of my problem. I know i told ya I spend 80% of time on composition, but then, while workin, I change it all...I see some artists makin their lines, then colourin them, then renderin, in such an easy way..maybe is not funny like our dirty arena fightings with the picture, but could be helpful sometimes..
it s funny, the more I feel im goin deep in this world, the more I realize Im not deep into it..

bably = badly.. I need to sort out my compositions a lot more than I do, basically.

We're always at war with our paintings eh? :)

Hey, I'm about to play this module. (Yes, yes...gamer chick here!) I love the values and hues you used. Despite the red and green, it doesn't scream 'CHRISTMAS!" Excellent stuff, as always. :highfive:

lol, I'll pop on a Christmas hat on my next one ;)

Good on ya gamer chick! I wish I could play, no one around here is interested in the slightest.. and hey I'm there more for the company and beer than playing to be honest ;)

You doing ok Chris? I've been quietly not following anything online for a while now.

I hear you about the beer and company...that's me too, frankly! I'm functionally illiterate with most of the rules. I like the 'storytelling' and 'character development' aspects of the game. Rules shmools. I drive 'real' gamers nuts.

Doing fine on this end, though I've had to shift my priorities quite a bit in the past coupla years, due to USA's lackluster economy. Took a dayjob, rededicated to the family, and decided to take only the art assignments that sparked my passions, in lieu of sparking my wallet. I'm such a sloooow painter, it was actually costing us money when I worked on stuff! But it's made me happier, and when Momma's happy, everyone's happy. :giggle:

Even though I don't pipe up often, I still follow your exploits! You make me jealous with your energetic brushstrokes. Keep up the amazing work (like you need a cheerleader, pish!)

We're there to have fun not get all anal, eh? ;)

Happiness is sorely underrated in this world.. you did good imo. :)

Don't follow my exploits, you'll go blind
