Update 30th March -
I just had an awesome trip to the Lake District for my OH's birthday and to get away from it all. Surpising news, we're now engaged!!
He proposed at my most favourite place, Tarn Howes
Oh cripes! I'm posting in March again. Naughty me!
So, what's new.. hmm. Well, for the last few months, I've been bedside with my grandmother. Through multiple misdiagnoses around Christmas, she was finally told she had Ovarian Cancer with a couple of weeks left. I was very close to her, so I begun grieving immediately though she was still here. So when she did die a few weeks later, I entered a strange, numb, stage of denial. I've cleared her house, seen her after she died *twice* and designed & printed countless images of her for various needs and I still am struggling to let it out. I think I just don't want to, because that will mean having to realise she's gone. She's not going to be at her home until I see her again, she will be completely gone. It's what she wanted, and she remained her wonderful self right until the end. But, I am going to miss her immeasurably.
So, due to all of that - I have entirely lost my muse for artwork. I don't need to sit trying to concentrate and mull things over. Avoiding being busy is impossible, so I've buried myself in to my work and the animals.
That said, the old man is *still* going - aged 40 this coming October! It's really quite scary, but he's very much a lively little idiot. Even with 2 sets of teeth touching remaining. He's no longer jumping my fencing, but he is very much his silly little self. Oh, and cheekier every day. 22 years together this year and he's still crazy!
I definitely need to start visiting people more, and actually make time from work to do so. 2016 flew by with me barely noticing - so I absolutely need to get some proper holidays arranged and stop making excuses. I need to re-catch up with two good friends and their new men-folk, and those a little closer who are now off having kids after getting married so quickly. We're all growing up, us 20 somethings, not teens any more!
Rescue work is going well, though they keep coming in groups of 3. I had 6 in 9 days, and it was so tiring just the travel & paperwork! Work is also busy, but that's nothing new. I also grabbed an extension on my last year of college (at my age!) so that's helped with having life go tits-up recently.
I never did get those rabbits! Arghh I so badly want rabbits again, but it's the time... bleh.
I have Instagram, Tumblr, Pinterest and various things to keep up with friends and folk alike, so if you want to trade followers - throw your link in to the comments!
I've now been on DA over 10 years!!
