Newfound respect for the assistant manager! Alice [not her real name] was called up when a customer asked. She told him that we couldn't return the items and he began to get upset. He said something like "you have your own brain..." [basically calling her stupid for not doing the return against policy] and she said "No. You do not say that. You do not talk to anyone like that." without shouting and speaking firmly [like a real professional]. He immediately became apologetic and she explained to him calmly about talking to corporate about the product. Really was great and inspiring to see someone deal with a frustrated customer with such authority and professionalism.
Anyway, other than that, there was a lady whose dog shit on the floor [gross but expected] and when she found out the dog sweaters weren't even cheaper [they were already half off] just left. At least at this job I can void transactions without needing a manager each time.
Ran into a former supervisor from my previous job and she had quit there too. Most people didn't like the new store manager's way of doing things.
