34. What is your favourite piece of your own work?  Show us:

I think it took the most "skill" on my part. Plus it's really personal actually.

The Fragile Revisions in Lifefor the geniuses shattered by madness

In Rockland or Fort Logan where
I love you too much for your
psychosis synopsis, your raving
enlightenment, Blake-tranquility
& giddy wisdom,

                           my mother with
the deep black, her revolving door
of abusers, lack of esteem held
to her worth, father with his barbed
belt eventually eaten by his malignant
thoughts, the suitor stalking the ghost-
rich grounds only contained by the flash
glow of the dog’s eyes red & blue,

                                                    my first

35. What is your most popular deviation?  Show us:
My DDs are in succession but this is the most popular:

She was BeautifulWe have a daughter
called poetry—
quiet with little fuss—
looking up
& molding us as god.
Her small verbs
span indifferent cities,
aloof mountain ranges,
& the hours of
blank faced clocks
between sunrises.
She knows there are
worse things than dark—
the black waters of the mind
are scarier.
We have created her
from love,
pressed & dried bouquets
& willow sticks—
things only we
could make a life from.
One day we'll wake up
as different people
but the magic
of a shared procreation
will keep us tied—
wanting to see each other's
newly patchworked faces.
We have a daughter
called poetry—
holding our hands together
& keeping the spaces & cracks
from collapsing our lives.

36. Look to your left.  What is the first thing you see?
Food processor. haha.

37. Now to your right:
Wall. One of my photographs is on it, though.

My mom. Who is asleep on the couch.

44. Thing you ate/drank:

The other day. I was having a breakdown of epic proportions about my life being planned out for me without my consent. It is no longer an issue.

46. Time you laughed and why:
Sometime today most likely. My mom probably said something hilarious, how she does.

Montessori, which is a preschool. Yay near-abuse.

54. Big holiday you went on:
I have actually never been on a real vacation.

55. Award you got:
I do believe it was my award for wearing spice girl shoes during gym when I was in elementary school. I was badass. Obviously. Do you know the talent it takes to run in platforms?

Yes. But I've never been caught!

57. Been arrested?
No. I would cry for days.

NascitvrDecurro if we're counting from when I started out on here.

84. Show us your most recent submission:

AtomicThere is a bird hidden
under the letters
I never sent you
on my fingernail—
I like to stare at
its almost decapitated
head
like a subliminal warning
& pretend you care
more than you do.
Outside birds always
find a way to
disappear off the earth
when storms arrive
until the greened over sky
decides to desaturate
in clear misunderstanding—
I pretend you care more
that Dorothy was
kidnapped by these
same clouds
& that after I gutted myself
on your work boots
you wondered if
the abrasive rain
made it look like
I was crying.
The memories pulse into
thinking two lifeless words
can rub into a reaction—
I muck under the stuck
letters in mud
for an inflection
I may have missed
in the fuzz of my
happily starved brain.
There is no amount of
sorry that can stop
rotation
& the slaughter of
moisture
crackles around the edges—
the leaves brush
against each other
soft as midnight voices,
the steady silence
indoors
reverberating thru
the tuning forks
implanted in my forearms.

More Personal Stuff ...

85. Religion:

86. Social class:
This is kind of an awkward question, right? I'm poor. Below poverty line.

German, Irish, Cherokee.

88. Languages spoken:
English. I can understand a fair bit of French from what I remember from high school but I can't speak it or write it.

89. A scar you have:
My zipper. Instead of stitches when I had my leg surgery I had staples. When they pulled them out, before the doctor came in the room actually, I had a legit panic attack and threw up. Which was lovely. But my scar looks like a zipper. It's on the inside of my left ankle.

90. Preferred medium:
Black pen only. Kthx.

It's really depressing, right? When I'm not doing anything with my life every year I get older is only a reminder of my failure haha.

Right. You can only use 'mental illness' as an excuse reason so many times before people stop listening and take your health at face value. And the whole time, you just feel like a failure but nobody asks or cares, just dumps their assumption on you so that you have another weight to carry, as if you didn't already have enough.

(And that's my sob story for the evening.)

OH MY GOD YES. I feel like that all the time. I hate seeing people from high school or my past because there's always that horrible question that pops up-- "so what are you doing?" I am doing nothing because it takes all of my energy just to function every day. People who've never had a mental illness don't understand it at all. They think you're just being lazy or don't give a fuck. But that's not it at all. And because you're not doing what society tells you you should be doing you feel like the worst person in the world. I feel like that all the time. Seriously. I love you right now haha.

Bahaha. I probably should overcome it at some point. Probably when I'm at school learning to be a zen master who writes well. If they let me in, that is.

Ah. The goal isn't to teach you how to write, the goal is to get you thinking about how and why you write what you do and to provide a framework in which you can teach yourself to write. Also, this place sounds pretty chillaxed.

Well, yes, that. I was being a bit flip about it. But I'm excited to try and enroll there. It's pretty much the only school for writing I would ever attend because they're not putting a bunch of classical rules on top of you and stifling your writing. Plus I get free yoga, so there's that.

I actually say that a lot in real life haha.

I pretty much had one tumblr I used as a device to talk to my muse who rarely looked at it. Then I made a more recent one and I follow like one person haha. Tumblr scares me because I feel like I will never escape once I start using it.

But it's paralyzingthekissinglovers. haha.

OF COURSE.
