Menger Cube by Schmiegel Menger Cube by Schmiegel
A Menger Cube based structure created using Structure Synth and rendered using Sunflow.

Two awesome freeware apps going well together if you like to play with math based recursive visualizations.

Great render !! So - five years ago the stuff I do now would have been somewhere along those lines. Must have missed that train and now I am on the bus replacement service which goes quite slowly!!

LOL, thank you!
Let's put it that way - five years ago Blender was a pain to use and Cycles just had a few basic features - if existed at all.
So you currently make the best out of all the packages!

Merci - it's just a minor tweak of one of the sample scenes that were supplied with earlier versions of Structure Synth

Thank you Leonie!

I hope the get started again with cubotronic depictationes!

Otherwise I'd gladly help fellow artists by pointing them to the amazing Structure Synth app or the Mandelbulb Menger Cube madness :)

That's great!

Unfortunately these seem to require actual math use! I do adore the M3D Mengers though and use them a lot! :D

Oh no Schmiegel, never managed uploading anything there, bad vibes I guess. At least here at DA your neat images would keep the size or it seems. Kudos.

Oh man, please do. I miss that superb one whit the little elephant you posted on flickr when you finally managed to get the caustics right and leaked out some gold about the rendering settings you hacked. Nobody did it before nor after, and now it is locked, that was just a great loss for us, your hungry fans...

And sorry for the broken engrish, my bad ;D

Thank you so much for your friendly words!

That image was likely "Put it back, Gumbo!"

... What a great time when I had the chance to explore Sunflow together with some fellow flickr dudes.

I'll render it at better settings to get rid of the speckles. But until then I hope you'll enjoy the image :)

Gefällt mir sehr. kannst du mir mal erklären wie man mit sunflow so eine reflection map macht?

reflection map - light map ... ?
Echte Frickelei! War am Ende aber glücklich :-)
