I love Terry Pratchetts Discworld. I am a great fan of the books since I have read "Mort" a few years ago.
So here is my tribute to a genius.

The beautiful background is freestuff from: [link]
Thank you so much for it, it was exactly what I needed.
Turtle and elephants from DAZ.

EDIT: By the way, this is the first render I postworked completly with GIMP. Maybe we will be friends after all.

I always see these kind of things and think how dumb the idea is. But like... What if?

Dankesehr.
Ich habe 3D Programme verwendet, daher keine Montage, eher Composition. :)

This is beautiful. A faithful graphic view of the inmost Hindu belief. Very well done.

The Vedec, the ancient writings of India, speaks of a turtle carrying four elephants who carry the disc of the world on their backs as the turtle carries them through the universe on an endless journey toward paradise. It is a beautiful legend over 100 centuries old.

My books and internet only describe the turtle with the world on her back...no word about elephants. ^^"
But however, this picture is fanart for Terry Pratchets "Discworld" Novels and has nothing to do with religion in any way. ;)

I find it rather neat the Terry Pratchett would use the Vedec metaphor for his story. And your depiction of it is flawless.
