...And Her Sister by SchaF ...And Her Sister by SchaF
Another one from the same storm as this one --> [link]

Too bad the right one was weak. Two strong ones in one shot - now, that would be amazing! :D

I live in Colorado, this reminds me of why I love it! Not only the mountains, but the eastern plains.

I love it, I love the lighting off centre. And the small one is cool as well because my imagination fills in the rest. Could stare at this for hours. Great shot dude. Awesome! :)

it's actually not about speed, quite the opposite. Check out the shutter speed - 15/1, that's a 15 second shutter speed I believe. You need it to be slow to capture all the light and get the full bolt.

i meant that my camera takes like forever to flash so that when if finally does go off chances are i missed the lightining bolt :S

I dig the low-level "scud" (stratus fractus clouds) on the leading edge of the gust front, and the big rain shafts. Great stuff man!

:omfg: WOW this is an EXCELLENT lightning shot! :D I tried this a few times, but it didn't come out quite right...:XD: [link] Question: Is this a long-term exposure, or just a really fast shutter speed? Also, did you use some sort of light sensor? I really want to learn how to do this. :boogie:

very nice, i think the smaller bolt, draws too much attention away from the larger one, but it is an amazing photograph nonetheless. =)

You know, I see a theme in this picture involving the title. You know how one sister will be glorious and beautiful, and the other sister has to live in that shadow?

Not really, I did post process it to give it a bit of sharpness and colour corection. Also the foreground was brightned up - a bit to much.
