Station Fifty Nine "The Bayside Navy" is located in the Port of Bayside, East River County. It is home to Engine Fifty Nine, Medic Fifty Nine, Battalion Eleven, the Fireboat Ops Captain, Fireboat One, Fireboat Two, Fireboat Three, Fireboat Four, Fast Response Boat One, Fast Response Boat Two, Fast Response Boat Three, and Fast Response Boat Four. Engine Fifty Nine and Medic Fifty Nine are surge apparatus, only staffed Monday through Friday nine to five, as well as for special events or other situations requiring additional companies to temporarily be opened. Battalion Eleven oversees the day to day operations of the station fifty nine, as well as Fast Response Boat Five, and all the MARC companies dotted throughout the county. The Fireboat Ops Captain directly oversees the Fireboats, maintaining their operational readiness. Fireboat One, Fireboat Three, and Fireboat Four are staffed year round, while Fireboat Two is only staffed during the summer months. The Fast Response Boats are staffed by the corresponding fireboat crew for use on calls that do not require a whole fireboat to respond. Station Fifty Nine is part of Battalion Eleven, District Four, and serves as headquarters for Battalion Eleven.
Engine Fifty Nine (Shops # FP1509) Engine Fifty Nine is staffed by up to: 1 FF/Engineer (EMT/Paramedic), 1 Captain or Lieutenant (EMT/Paramedic), and 2 FF/EMTs and/or FF/Paramedics. Total normal staffing: 4 Mon-Fri 9-5, and 0 unless activated as a surge company outside normal surge hours, and maintains a ALS response level. Engine Fifty Nine is set up with three hosebeds: One with 1200' of 5" large diameter supply hose, one with 500' of 3" supply hose, and one with 200' of 2 1/2" supply/attack hose with a blitz fire monitor preconnected to a rear discharge. In addition to its hosebeds, Engine Fifty Nine also carries four 150' preconnected 1 3/4" crosslays, one 100' preconnected 1 3/4" trash line, one 25' segments of 5" large diameter supply hose rolled in the engineers compartment, four 10' segments of 5" hard suction hose, two 25' segment rolls of 2 1/2" supply/attack hose, and two 150' high rise packs of 1 3/4" attack hose.
