Oscar Wilde quote 1 by scaryqueen Oscar Wilde quote 1 by scaryqueen
another quick GIF with a famous quotation by Oscar Wilde

Oscar Fingal O'Flahertie Wills Wilde (October 16, 1854 - November 30, 1900) was an Irish playwright, novelist, poet, and author of short stories. He was one of the most successful playwrights of late Victorian London, and one of the greatest celebrities of his day. He was accused of sodomy and homosexualism and was imprisoned for two years of hard labour. He was released on May 19, 1897 and died of cerebral meningitis on November 30, 1900. He's buried on Lachaise Cemetery, Paris; on the tomb there's also a small compartment for Robert Baldwin Ross's ashes. Ross was one of the loyal friends who kept contact with Wilde after he was imprisoned and, some say, his first lover.

Awww, you're very welcome! I  Oscar. I have a very old copy or De Profundis, published just a few years after his death. May he rest in peace...

yes, I'm sure he's on a marvelous place out there!

Oh, so you have a treasure! And "De Profundis" is worth it's title... I have this work in a special place at my heart, it was the first Oscar Wilde piece I read.

We can forgive a man for making a useful thing as long as he does not admire it. The only excuse for making a useless things is that one admires it intensely.

All art is quite useless.

Oh, so many people are saying that I need to slow down my stamps... I may do this, if it's better!
Thank you for the comment, and of course you can use it on your journal! =D Let's spread Oscar's words for they're worth of it!
Anyway, thanks for asking. It was a huge consideration of your part for doing so!
