Walk the line by ScarletteDeath Walk the line by ScarletteDeath
Well, that was fun.
A little accident happened today and now I've got a shitload of cleaning to do just because the neighbour decided to let me know that they felt a strange smell coming from my house. How rude.
Blood: fake A+

Art theft is a crime - whenever you steal my photo, a baby unicorn dies. :(

I love to think of stories behind your pictures, always make me shiver, like in a good horror book!
Nice side-effect.

The blood looks super-realistic.;P

What lens do you use by the way, I noticed that you are using an aperture of F/1.8, my limit is by 3.5 or 5.6, coming from if I zoom or not.

Thank you! I'm really glad you enjoyed it.

I use Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II  Since I bought it, I can't remember the last time I used my kit lens. I don't like to work with high f-stop, so I'm using 1.8 all the time (I also work in poor lighting conditions quite often so it's another advantage). I'm in love with it.

Oh dear, I need to buy this lens! Sounds as if it was great!

But if you have bad light conditions, the images always get so noisy. :crying: I already have a noise when I use ISO 400!

It is! :iconrlyplz:

My iso was 400 and I don't think there's too much noise.
It's not the only way to make your photo brighter, you know. :D If your shutter speed is low enough (and you'll need a steady hand or a tripod), it will do the job. I rarely set iso to 800 or higher.

Is it expensive?

Not too much, but quiet. :faint:

I know, but sometimes the light conditions are so bad that even if it is on 1/40 or lower, the image is nearly black. And if I use a tripod then, the image gets all yellow-ish, you know what I mean? :D

Not at all! :dummy: I bought used one, paid around 80 € for it. In stores it's usually around 140 € :giggle:
The only problem with it is that auto focus is a bit slow. Oh, and you have to think about composition a lot, since it's a prime lens you can't just zoom anything you want.
If the price is not that important for you and you really want 50mm lens, I suggest you buy Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM which is around 250 €, I believe. I was actually saving up to buy this one, but I was so surprised how cheap the other one was that I had to buy it. I don't regret it, though. :D

Yellowish? Try using different white balance, for example tungsten light. I use it all the time when I shoot indoors since the light bulbs produce yellow light.

I actually needed some advice with fake blood. Could you help? :)

Thank you! :aww:
Why, yes I can! I usually use food colouring that you can buy in most supermarkets. I mix it up with a bit of water and with corn starch/cornflour to make it nice and thick. You can't just use red colour, you'll need to add a bit of yellow and blue to make it look more real, but not too much, just a drop or two.
Since the food colouring is ridiculously expensive here where I live, I use temperas when I run out of it. (But if you're planning to use it on your face - don't, trust me.)
Anyway, that would be it. :D

actually I use almost the same metod, the only problem is that the food coloring makes it hard to wash off
I'm planning some shots with blood and that's why I wanted to ask how you wash it

Everything is hard to wash off. :XD: There's no easy way with fake blood, unfortunately. Well, unless you buy some pre-made fake blood (which is even more expensive. I sound cheap, but I refuse to pay for something that I can make myself).
Anyway, good luck with the shooting. :dummy:

wow the lip eye is trippy (your avatar)
And I like this! Very nice!

My little critique advice:

On some parts of the blood, you should add a little brown(and/or)rusty red to make it more realistic. ;)
