Was originally opting for black and dark blue here but the red came out so much more lovelier. Probably one of my favorite designs that I've created to date!

Is this a set price or auction? I just wanted to double check and make sure you saw Dark-Aires's bid. I noticed you replied to a comment a few hours ago and I just wanted to be sure you noticed it! <3

Oh, it's no problem at all! They've already paid, I'm just on mobile right now so it's a hassle to change the status of the adopt. I'll get to it as soon as I can.

I think 30 is a fair price for an asset. The idea alone is original, and the concept is clearly drafted for an illustrator to take advantage of.

I see this and I want to illustrate a story with it, model it in 3d, use parts of this design for other character aesthetics, or to develop an oc or even an entire culture on.

I might see your point of 30 being overpriced if you just wanted to use it once, but it is a fair price for what she provided. She provided a concept that an artist could never come up with that is worthwhile.

Thank you Scarlett.

I'm starting the bid here at 30 please reply to my post if ya want to raise the price.

I don't understand what we're paying for here...
Care to fill me in on how this works and why it's worth $30?

Me too, I'm kinda confused .. Of course there's time that goes into the design, but why buy something for $30 when you can draw a design on your own?

My thoughts exactly ... as heartless as I (or we) may seem by saying this... it's not that hard to design a dress or an outfit. Claiming it as your own is another thing altogether. Art is inspiration and inspired by many things. For example Bowser from the Mario series was inspired by Oxen and then fixed over time to include Koopa Troopa similarities. So he's become a turtle with an Ox head. Can't say he was just thought up. Everything has a start.
As for outfits like these... if I made so much as a simple alteration, it's a completely different outfit and is then not only free, but also similar in design to this one what apparently costs $30 to "buy". It's all... confusing to me. Granted, art assets can be sold... but that is obscenely over priced if it were to be purchased, even as the rights to recreate it alone.

I totally agree, I would only adopt designs that are beyond the scales amazing. This? A dress. $30 for a dress you can't even wear. Anyways, yeah, I'm not a fan of these adopts where all it is, is an hour worth of work making random addons to the design to claim it "original" or "unique".
Whatever though, You can't live off adopts your whole life lmao.

Especially because you'll use that outfit maybe once on a character you thought would fit, because most of these designs are way too complex and even thrown away right after buying because it's too difficult to draw it on a character in a certain pose. But I guess it's not up to us what we would pay for this, and seeing as all the other designs are sold it's probably only us thinking that  rvmp
The same goes for all other designs too though, for example canine or equine designs that are sold for $20 or even higher. No coat and no marking belongs to a person, so you could definitely get inspired by that design and create your own without getting any copyright problems. And you can change your own design from time to time if you don't enjoy drawing it anymore, designs that are bought are often not allowed to be changed :confused

And that, in the end, destroys creativity. It cages you in. Almost forces you to get your monies worth out of whatever you chose to buy as a design. Quite... different. A little counter productive to what it means to be an artist. Taking things from nature and your daily life and getting inspired by them to do something creative or artistic with it. With boundaries set by a paywall... you're kind of... well, stuck.

Yep, and $30 is way too overpriced for only using it once and then not enjoying it at all afterwards. It's 2400 :points: after all, and you could buy more than 3 months of Core Membership with those - I'd rather do that instead of buying an outfit that's not gonna be used at all.

Never even thought of it being translated to a membership... Perhaps that is what the artist is using the money towards, however in the end, it's still quite overpriced.

Wow you guys are super rude and I can see you also have problem with people supporting artists.
What's overpriced and not.. let the seller decide what their work is worth, and if you don't like it don't make them feel bad just click on an other deviation.
Besides, the dress looks really amazing, and is worth way more..

You apparently did not read our whole conversation, as we were simply talking about how you can recreate any design and dress instead of buying it. We never insulted Scarlett-Knight or her work, we just discussed in a friendly manner. Besides, it's our opinion, and we are free to voice it as long as we do not insult anyone, and we did not.
I have absolutely no problem with people supporting artists, and I never said anything about it, I simply stated how you could buy a lot more with $30. If I, in any way, made Scarlett-Knight feel bad, she is free to note me or comment on my profile.
Yes, the dress does look amazing and it surely was complicated to draw, but we were simply discussing the price of this. I think everyone knows when a deviation is overpriced and when it's not.
