This really hits home how many people died. They were all a person, all someone's loved one, but, they seem to fade into oblivion, along with all the others.

I was really sad that they were only identified by numbers. This photo is only a small portion of the wall too, it was kind of overwhelming.

I spent some time looking at that wall when I was at the war memorial a couple of months back. Looking into the eyes of all those guys shook me up quite a bit.

When did you come to Canberra?

I flew to Melbourne a month ago, and spent 10 days driving back to Brisbane. I was in Canberra the Saturday before ANZAC Day, so everything was being set up.

Did you watch the video opposite that wall? Staring at those faces while listening to the audio was really moving.

Yeah, I watched it for a bit. It's not a particularly fun experience, but definitely worth it. Realising that you're looking at a HUGE group of guys who aren't with us any more - and who's personal experiences and stories have been completely lost - hit me pretty hard.

I know what you mean about the setup too. I drive past the AWM nearly every day, so I saw the stands going up and being pulled down.
