John Carter of Mars by Cecil DeMille Poster

I give Dragonrose36 the credit for this idea. She mentioned that she would like to have seen Charleston Heston play the part part in his younger years because his real name was John Carter, an interesting factoid. Of course I had to go all Ten Commandments on the epic scale here, and being a fan of Yul Brynner and Sophia Loren, who has a lusty and exoticly regal bearing, seemed perfect to round out this classic cinematic giant. In my fantasy, Ray Harryhausen had access to ILM level technology back in the stop-motion 50s.
It was fun researching the lavish and often lurid hand painted posters of that era. Definitely a golden age of poster art with so much more personality and craft than the photo montages of today. At least we had Drew Struzen for awhile.
