Warframe: Prime Akjagara by SBigham Warframe: Prime Akjagara by SBigham
Revealed during my Tennocon 2018 art talk.  This is just the concept - No ETA or further details on this guy.

I've posted progress sketches of this and other work on my Artstation account if you're interested in checking it out.

Figured I should clarify since some people are posting about this gun being a dual wielding weapon - the only reason it isn't shown like that is because the concept artists only have a few basic stances readily available to us to use: pistol pose and rifle pose.  These are purely meant to test the grip to make sure we've designed a gun which can be held by a character.  This is also why you don't see the concept artists posting images of tenno holding melee weapons and such.  Just a little food for thought!

Will the pair be asymmetrical like the vanilla Akjagara?

We'll see... It wasn't part of the original brief and they haven't started getting modeled yet so it could still happen.

I think it loses a lot of the elegance the original "wooden" versions had. These look more cold and utilitarian...maybe it just needs a palette change?

Well, you are able to change the color scheme of your guns so that shouldn't be an issue.  Also I don't believe Orokin designs make use of wood at all - it's all black/white composite coverings with gold and undertech.  Tenno designs will often incorporate 'cheaper' materials as wood, plastics etc as they're generally treated (visual design wise at least) as less expensive, utilitarian knockoffs of Orokin designs.

For sure, that's what I meant by needing a palette change, I just typed that awkwardly. I think I'll like them a lot more once I take a brown sharpie to them lol.

I think it definitely looks Orokin, so no complaints there.  Based on materials, the old Akjags look almost like flintlock pistols while these are more like modern handguns, the change is more dramatic than something like Braton/Braton Prime.

Oh yea, its up to each concept artist as far as their process for priming regular weapons.  Some will keep them very faithful to the silhouette and breakup wise while just adding gold flourishes here and there.  When's I'm doing Prime weapons I'll often try and capture the distilled essence of the gun: ie ornate blade on the bottom/top and try and push it as far as possible with as many variations as possible.  Some of the early sketches for Akjagara were maintaining that flinklock look but it was decided to move further away from it (those variations are posted on my artstation page).  Feedback from our art directors/weapons artists will often reign it in after the sketching phase allowing them to give a bit more direction to the options provided.

If Build to be AkJagra, would this feature the same off-symetry Blades and reload style as the Regular one? Pretty damn unique...

Good question, I've seen this come up in multiple places (reddit, forums, youtube) it was certainly something that I might have not realized while designing the weapon prime version of the weapon, but I  wouldn't have a problem coming back and making an alternate version so it was more in line with the regular Tenno a symmetrical version.  It's also possible the 3D weapon artist will do this themselves or as has been suggested they would just be the same gun in each hand.
