A grineer uzi that was revealed at Tennocon - this was actually my first model that I tought myself Zbrush with at home.  Was the start of my journey into integrating it into my workflow and I'm happy to see it eventually make it into the game.

We need more bullpup (magazine behind trigger) guns in this game.

Do you design the weapon funcions and features or do you work with guidelines?

Depends - Typically i'm just given a faction and a weapon type to start with then I go from there and can take it as far as I like complexity wise. Sometimes rig restrictions will come into play, especially in the case of prime weapons or weapons of a particular group (looking at you longbows....)

But you don´t have anything to do with stats and weapon workings don´t you? For example the was the Zenistar disk function an idea from you?

I can plan as much as I want when it comes to functionality but once the riggers and animators get a hold of it they can choose to take it in a totally different direction if they want.  As for the Zenistar, when I started designing it, its set required use of the spinning disc and to reference 'time' otherwise the only request was to make it a large battle axe type weapon.  Stats and stuff come further down the line and I'm not involved in that.

I've always had questions about the Grineer magazines for their weapons, do they work off of a plasma thing or some kind of liquid projectile like the emulsion from Gears of war? I'd love to know what you have in mind when designing them, even if it isn't cannon =P

Some of them yea, I think would use some sort of liquid fuel conversion - others just straight up bullets or pellets - it totally varies from gun to gun.  Typically what comes out of the muzzle is totally not even up to me!

Haha, very cool. Whatever the end product is though as the artists we can always make up our own head cannons.

Al good weapons must have a name, what shall you name this marvelus bastard?

I would alsow love to se a hole new enemy type dedicated to this weapon.

Dual-wield for the win!!!

It's known as the stubba. A beautiful crit-based gun.

Will you ever post any of the 3D you do? Concept looks so clean, would love to see the sculpt!

Hey LingXiaoXian, what you see here are pretty much the final sculpts I do! I keep them nice and lose and just draw over them with lines in photoshop to keep it clean and readable.  I did post a turnaround of the model I made for the Corpus dropship on my artstation page if you're looking for 'just' the model and nothing else though.

Oh, I never knew people did that; I was fooled by the lines haha. Thanks, I'm on my the way to your artstation right now...

No problem! I'm actually being harassed at the moment by some online video tutorial sites - I may try and gauge people interest in getting a full video walk through of the process from start to finish (obviously it wouldn't be a warframe weapon) and commit the time to produce it.

This is everything I love about Grineer craftmanship! I'm just so excited! Thank you Sean for such a beast design!

Awesome! Happy you like it! Was really trying to channel the more classic kit-bashed-welded-monstrosity guns that the game started with.
