What's the idea behind the bottom part of the tower? As far as I'm aware, the ingame version doesn't have the bottom part. Is that how it would look like in the past? Or is it actually there, just submerged? Ingame bug screenshot shows that the bottom part isn't modeled at all.

Hey filtered-suliva, I think the model might have just been trimmed off at the base since it was submerged in the effort to trim unnecessary polies from the level.  I hope at some point the base gets a full reveal or becomes explorable!

If they do let us explore the tower in the future I hope you'll be the one making the concepts for the interior!

This is something fascinating, in that when first seeing this tower one immediately strong impression it made (which I merely discarded as something irrelevant) was of designs I have seen and visualized from reading (i.e. the “beanstalk” in Heinlein’s Friday), fiction (Superdimension Century Orguss as an example) and science (developed but never built plans by NASA etc.) which have amalgamated into a sort of archetypal architectural schema which the tower immediately suggested - a “Space Elevator.” Having just run across this here, and noticing the hashtag, has prompted me to wonder whether a fitness of the towers form to that function was something which emerged as a mere aesthetic impression, or in response to a specification for a function to be incorporated into the design. (I have a feeling that if the latter is the case, you might not be at liberty to disclose it, as it could constitute something of a “spoiler” to the unfolding lore, especially with a major questline looming from a protracted cliffhanger of a “Prologue” which has already brought focus upon an immanent revelation concerning the moon to a point of being virtually inescapable).

That is very terrific Orokin Architecture you've presented. I was apparently thinking about what if a certain building was built using that same architectural style as this tower.

That would be pretty cool - and pretty gross.  Might make people apprehensive about ever tearing them down though.

Wow that's really huge and cool as hack! (By the way why the hell is it made out of flesh?! That is the most common thing people are asking right now.

Thanks! I'm not too sure of the lore reasons that they've come up with or if its been revealed yet.  Hopefully more information will become available soon!

i dont know why. but my thought is thats how the towers control things when the enter them like a hive mind or something. also the derelicts are infested because the towers are made of flesh :P

Acutely (sorry for my spelling) the Derelict is not made out of flesh but made out of plant matter and trees as no flesh is seen in the ship no matter what so it is nothing but a ship with a tree over grow.

Well, these tree is in fact really old infestation. The tower like the one in cetus might be made of infestation too but from a more active one as it still have nutriznts while the derelict one have no access to new ressources, adopting a vegetale-lile form.
Just a theory tho
