Dude, I totally dig the biomechanical aesthetic for the grineer, especially this piece in particular www.deviantart.com/sbigham/art…. Reminds me of Ted Backman's work on the synths for half-life 2 (who's work I equally adore).
Good question - I look at a lot of sculpture work along with musical instruments for inspiration. Also a lot of Art Nouveau designs as well to inspire me for some of the more ornate work as well. Some of my fellow/former employees did some great early explorations of the shape language for the faction years ago and as time has gone on each artist has spun it off in slightly different ways. It's a ton of fun to work with but pretty slow with all the heavy ornate design work.
