Seeker of Truth - Chapter 20: Love me Again
‘Are you ready for tomorrow?’ Clint asked you, as you were walking out of S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters.
You had just heard you and Clint were going on a mission together to retrieve something other agents had found in Washington. Fury wouldn’t say what the agents had found exactly, but apparently the both of you were needed.
‘I guess… Let’s just hope it’s not an ‘abandoned’ Hydra base again.’
Clint laughed. ‘I doubt it. Fury doesn’t make the same mistake twice.’
‘So you believe him?’
‘He’s the director, I don’t really have a choice.’
You sighed. ‘Maybe…’
‘Don’t worry, [Name]. You have this sixth sense, right? You’ll see them coming!’
‘Didn’t really work last time, did it?’ you groaned, looking at the bruise on your chest. It still hadn’t completely disappeared

You were hanging above the toilet, throwing up the breakfast you had just ate. You wiped your face with a towel and let your head rest against the wall. This couldn’t be happening. You had just started to work at S.H.I.E.L.D. again, after one of the missions you and Steve went on had gone south.
The men you had been after, had taken you hostage for over a week, trying to lore Steve out of hiding. They had beaten you so badly that when Steve came to rescue you, you couldn’t even stand up. You would never be able to forget the look on Steve’s face as he saw what they had done to his fiancé. That had all been just a month ago.
When you told Steve several days ago they had also raped you – after you had backed away from him, trying to kiss you – he had insisted you would stop working for S.H.I.E.L.D.. He said he would never forgive himself if anything like that ever happened to you again. Stubborn as you were you had told hi

You were running down the hall, pieces of paper in your hands. You had promised your boss you would have your presentation ready by twelve, but because the only copy machine on your floor had broken, you had had to fix it before you could print all your flyers.
When you heard screams, you stopped running and looked around you. It wasn't until then you noticed that most of the offices were empty and people were gathered around the stairs. Instinctively you dropped all the papers and reached for the gun on your belt. There wasn’t one. You sighed, remembering you were no longer part of the Special Forces. You had left that part of your life behind. Or at least you tried to.
'What's going on?' you asked one of your colleagues. She seemed ready to cry any minute.
'New York is under attack,' your boss, David, said as he helped his employees get down the stairs.
'What do you mean?' you frowned. 'Under attack by what?'
'I... I don't know,' he mumbled. 'I don't want to know.'
The ground s

Together with the team – which they called the Howling Commandos – you were bend over a large world map. You had already had several mission together and all had been successful. Several Hydra bases had been destroyed and none of you had gotten hurt. The men had accepted you in the team, only once or twice joking about the fact that your pants made your butt look weird. You actually thought it was funny. Bucky on the other hand always gave them nasty glares to make them stop laughing.
Things had become rather serious between you and Bucky, but you still hadn’t spoken a word about what doctor Zola had done to the both of you. You had decided to just let it rest and enjoy the butterflies in your stomach every time Bucky kissed you and touched you on places no man had been before. Bucky was holding you tightly as Steve was explaining the plan to everyone and telling them what to do.
During the missions you had

You were walking across the Avengers set, your make-up box in hand. It was still early in the morning, but the director wanted to start the first day of shooting the new Avengers movie: The Age of Ultron early, causing you to be walking across the set towards the make-up booths while the sun wasn’t even up yet.
‘Hi, [Name]!’ One of your colleagues said, when you came walking into the building. ‘How’d you sleep last night?’
‘Fine, thanks for asking Tanya. Are the actors not here yet?’
‘You know how A-listers are. They’re probably just walking up from their beauty sleep.’
You hit her softly on the shoulder and laughed. ‘Don’t say things like that. They’re people too.’
‘Of course we are,’ you heard someone say behind you. You turned around and saw Chris Evans – a.k.a. Captain America – standing behind you, looking as ha

You were running through the forest, branches hitting you in the face as you didn’t even took the time to move them out of the way. You didn’t hear the footsteps behind you anymore, but you could still feel their presence.
As you were nearing the end of the forest you heard the soft splashing of water. The closer you got, the stronger the energy of another person became. It somehow felt familiar. You stumbled out of the forest and started screaming as you saw a motorcycle standing on the road.
You walked towards the water and saw someone sitting on a rock above the water, throwing pebbles.
‘Help!’ you screamed. ‘Someone is following me!’
You didn’t know if you could trust him. You could only hope he was also a mutant. He turned around when you screamed for a help a third time. As you fell to your knees he came running towards you.

‘I’m so late, I’m so late!’ you muttered to yourself while you quickly brushed your teeth and put on some make-up.
‘Damn it,’ you cursed softly. ‘Where are my shoes?’
You pulled the curlers you had put in the other night out of your hair and let your fingers go through the curls to loosen them a bit.
‘I thought you had an audition at ten,’ you roommate said, walking out of her room, yawning. She checked her watch and sighed. ‘It’s five to ten, [Name]. You’re going to be late.’
‘I know, I know!’ you cried out, still looking for your shoes.
‘What are you looking for?’
‘My black heels. I can’t find them anywhere.’
‘By the door…’ your roommate said, pointing at the front door. ‘Where you left them last night when you came back from that other audition you were late for, remember. You sh

Seeker of Truth - Chapter 19: Everything has changed
While Bruce had attended your wounds and Natasha had looked at you all worried when Bruce removed the bullet, Steve, Clint and Tony had been talking to Fury. Apparently Steve had become really angry with Fury for not telling him it was a – not so abandoned – Hydra base. He had thrown the folder you had retrieved from the warehouse on the table and had walked out of the room, followed by an amused Tony and head shaking Clint.
As you were putting back on your shirt and Natasha helped you carry your things they came walking into Bruce’s lab.
‘You kicked some ass back there, cap!’ Tony said, a grin covering his face. ‘I didn’t know you had it in you.’
‘Forget about it, Tony. I just lost it. It won’t happen again.’
‘Did I say it was a bad thing?’
‘What did Fury have to say?’ Natasha cut in.
‘Nothing much,’ Clint answered. ‘

You were sitting at a bar in the back of a pub back in England, where you had first been stationed. After Steve had brought most of the men back to the camp, the colonel had been impressed. Especially seeing you carrying a gun. Steve and Bucky explained everything and the colonel had fired you from your nurses duties and had offered you a position as a soldier. Even though Bucky and Steve would rather not have you fight in the war, they couldn’t stop you.
The woman soldiers uniform was nicer than the nurses dress. The men respected you more. Especially the men that had seen you fighting. The men that you had shared a cell with respected you nonetheless and had welcomed you with open arms. They were drinking beer together just a few feet away from you and had asked you to join them. You had declined, because you had planned to meet up with Bucky at the back of the bar to discuss the things that had happened to the both o
