Adoptables, Truth Pills
First thing to say, this is not an 'educational' Journal in the sense that it does not add anything new to *HOW* to make and sell adoptables, I have already written most of what I know about adopts in the previous Journals, the links to those will be at the end of this Journal.
The Adoptable World has changed a lot in the 6 years that I've been in it.
In the beginning, there were only a handful of people having adoptable accounts and even less did original species or original designs. You wanted a never-seen-before character? You had to design it yourself. You could count on one had the ARPGs that had original species (not counting mythical creatures). Then more and more people joined in, started making adopts of all kinds, started creating new species, new lore, new everything. More people are joining, and it suddenly becomes difficult to make and sell adopts. New ideas are harder to create and there's drama everywhere.
Being in the community for so long, you kind of forget how hard i
Okay so I know I've been delaying picking winners, but it's just been so hard everyone's entries were SO good!! And I loved each one so thank you to everyone who entered I will be doing more contests in the future~
I've decided the first place winner will be cerrystarrs, as I absolutely loved the icon they made of eel
I'ts very well animated, and just adorable. I think it does a good job of showing eel's cute, curious personality I really wasn't expecting an icon with this much effort on the animation, you did a really good job with it~
Your prize is 2 free aesthetic designs, you may create 2 "aesthetics" with 3 pics in each(much like my adopts!) Note them to me with info on what species you'd like ^^
I'd like to go on and praise some of the other entries, because they were so good as well.
I absolutely loved this one, It's super well made and shows off eel's love of meat.
The Arena (Chapter 1): Demon x Reader
They took me. Yes, took me from the only family I knew, the only race I knew.
Before, there were only humans. How simple, how straight forward.
Now I’m no longer a part of that wonderfully understandable world.
My capture was not complex or even that significant, and it was partially my fault. I was out late, in the deeper parts of the city, straying from my friends and walking where I should not. I was at the wrong place at the horridly right time.
Shoved in a car, no answers, no hesitations. A long drive to be put simply, and between the bag over my head and heavy dosage of drugs into my arm – I had no idea where I was taken.
But I know where I am now.
To put it simply… Hell.
“Dinner!” One of the guards called harshly into the cold cement halls, piercing the dark quietness with his ghos
Eyeless Jack X Intelligent Reader - Chapter 1
I’ve always been paranoid.
I’ve accepted that fact and try to keep it… reasonable.
But this is just… too much.
I was just walking home, minding my own business. I take the same shortcut from the bar I work at, cutting through a relatively abandoned part of town lined with rotting storefronts and warehouses.
I always take this route. It’s quicker, quieter, and comfortable to me. I much prefer the open air of the abandoned area to the cramped space of a bus or subway. I go this way no matter rain or shine, hot or cold. Some people believe I’m an idiot – that I’m asking to be mugged or taken advantage of.
That’s why I carry weapons. Several, in fact.
I carry them because I’m not an idiot – and I’m notoriously paranoid.
And I know I’m being followe
Jeff The Killer X Blind!Reader - Prologue
Yelling and chaotic sounds reached my ears as I carefully scrambled over the rubble and darted away from the facility. Large booms rumbled behind me and the building buckled under whatever I had triggered. I tripped a few times, the ground uneven and new to me. I hadn’t been allowed to run in so long… it felt amazing. The texture beneath my feet changed from the cold tile and cement to a strangely wonderful softness. The ground was grainy and had a slight give to it, letting my feet sink into it slightly. This must be what dirt feels like? Damp blades brushed against me ankles and calves as I ran farther out, leaving smears of water across my exposed skin.
The sounds of the facility faded and I felt the oppressing feeling of so many presences fade behind me. The workers and scientists couldn’t keep up, my awareness of their minds dimmed with distance. The explosions had even snuffed some of them out, silencing their mind

You had finally done it.
You finally beat the the black king.
Thus beating the game.
But in this moment of relief,
it didn't mean you didn't suffer your own losses.
No one got out unscaved.
Blood covered your hands,
but only...it wasn't your blood.
In the last moments of the black kings struggle to defeat you...
he lashed forward,
ready to attack.
Already strained for energy you knew there was no way you could counter.
Or get away in time for that matter,
this would have been the end of you.
That’s when it happened...
Seeing your lack of movement and the black king quickly approaching,
he throws you out of the way.
The last thing flooding into your ears being the horrid crushing of bones.
Taking the full on force of the black king,
he was tossed through the air like a rag doll.
With the help of 1 lucky roll,
Vriska uses the Guillotine de la Marquise,
beheading the king.
Ending our battle

"Hey Journal. Long time no write.
I just...I have to vent today. I really do. Today she, you know who, she was saying something. You know, the same stuff, all that. It was the saddest thing to hear, and I wish I didn't have to hear it at all.
When we were sitting in lunch, and the kids next to us were joking about how kids who cut were just doing it for attention. I was about to stand up and tell them off, but she put a hand on my shoulder, her scars barely visible under her shirt, and shook her head.
"Don't worry, I'm used to it."
When someone told her to go kill herself in Math because she was dating someone who was "too good for her." I almost punched the asshole in the face, but she stopped me, tears in her eyes, and shook her head.
"Don't worry, I'm used to it."
When kids started going around, scars on their arms, and she tried to reach out to them, only to be pushed away beca
Weekend Features! 10/21
I try to only feature deviations with less than 100 faves (at the time of posting the journal), so that they can hopefully get more well-earned attention! <3 heads-up that there's a lot from my animal/birds faves folders this week... found way too much good stuff!
(there are occasionally some artist repeats--probably due to a combination of forgetfulness & simply enjoying their work that much <3 )

Using HTML on deviantART
Hello and welcome to my little html tutorial. I've been working with html codes for a couple of years and I'm going to teach you what I know about using some basic html on deviantART. This won't make you a html expert or something and I'm not an expert myself but it will give just enough knowledge to make your journals, comments, news articles and other neat and lovely looking.
deviantART actually has FAQs about html but I still wanted to do this because they look a bit unorganized, in my opinion. Also, why would you want to look for those FAQs when you can just open this news article where you have everything in one place?
You may already know some of these, but I hope you'll find at least something helpful in this news article.
Some basic html

How To Prevent Art/Oc theft
First, I'm going to tell you something that I realized over my time as a..art thief ......alerter? Cop? whatever
Pinterest is the #1 reason why art/ocs are stolen.
and YOUR art may be being shared over a shit ton of 11 year olds 'mlp adoptables i own' collections or whatever. PLEASE read this journal!
When someone's ocs are stolen, it's 75% likely that it's because SOMEONE shared their art to pinterest. Whether to be 'adopted' out to people or just shared all over that horrid website.
Here's an example;
This oc is stolen a lot
And what do you know, it's spread ALL OVER pinterest.
The reason it's stolen a lot is because pinterest is a website meant for sharing and people will take shit off of there because there's no artist' rules or anything besides 'sources' but barely ANYONE checks those.
Here's the original btw- (you'll notice it's only linked once in the above picture, and it is NOT the first link that pops
What is Oasis Days?
Oasis Days is my personal anthropomorphic animal project. It has a contemporary background setting, with a little bit of fantasy and sci-fi elements. It presents scenes of peaceful life of a small rural town, and a few other places the main characters visited.
Old names of the project
Because the development time of this project has been so long, it had been renamed a few times for various reasons. Regardless of the names, they all point to the same thing.

Current state and plans
Although I tried to write a story for this project, but it inevitably introduced conflicts, which worked against the peaceful life idea. Therefore I decided no meaningful story will be int

on 7/06, my precious Vilda passed away.
I'm now saving up even more, pushing past my previous goal, to take all of my rats to the vet.
I don't want to lose another baby and i can't take the pain it's currently putting me through. That being said, I'm doing anything I can to raise funds quicker -
selling characters, drawing, making adopts/customs, etc etc. I don't know how much the cost will be, but I have 5 rats that need to go to the vet asap. One of them is already showing signs that Vilda and Journey had; makes it seem they're dying one by one and it hurts like hell to watch them suffer.
I've been told that the amount needed is going to be close to 400.
Any amount helps, please spread this if you can.
As some of you may know from my previous adopts, I'm trying to gather up some usd in order to take my rat to the vet.
She's suddenly very skinny and frail, only a year and a half old - she lost her sister a couple months ago and sh
The Deadpool 2 IMAX Invitational
When DeadpoolMovie needed great artists to create IMAX posters for the new film, who did they call? Your friendly, artsy Internet pals at DeviantArt! #DeadpoolInvitational
DeviantArt is well-known for being a leader in developing excellent artists and creating phenomenal art, particularly pieces inspired by pop culture. It's the strength of our community that attracted the good people at IMAX and 20th Century Fox to approach five deviants to participate in a special competition: Create the IMAX poster for everyone's favorite sequel with a mouth, Deadpool 2!
Judged by a team from Fox (including Deadpool himself!), not only is the winner's piece now an official poster seen across the world in theaters and outdoor ad placements, they also received a host of other incredible prizes (see below). So t
Four-eyes was drinking from a huge mug that had been filled with dark beer. It was a good winter night with no wind and plenty of clean snowfall. Brother Stefan had brought a notebook with him but neglected to bring a pen. Four-eyes was trying to tell a story, or perhaps, in his disconnected way, explain something.
He woke up at four-thirty in the morning and felt for his damp fatigues and wet boots in the dark under his cot. He stripped off his underwear and fumbled inside the duffel bag. The coarse material scraped his knuckles as he dug around the edge and his palm eventually touched a soft dry T-shirt and some briefs. He couldn’t find any dry socks by feel so he put on the ones from last night. He got dressed and navigated over and around the cluster of folded-out cots and the sleeping snoring crew and finally walked out of the tent. He zipped the canvas flap back halfway up, put on his field jacket and shivered in the dark.
His unit used to be a service and maintenance group
The Cookies of Doom
K. Betnikoff did not sleep.
If you were awake late at night in Tower Hall, stuck your head out of your door and looked down toward the north end of the hallway, you would see that his door was open. A rectangle of reflected fluorescent light would be glowing softly on the floor in front of his dorm room. When going to breakfast you would notice that his door was open. If you were coming back up to your room after classes you would see that his door was open. When you came back from Spring Break you would see that his door was open. If you had the courage to walk to the end of the hallway and to look inside his room, this is what you would see:
A man of indeterminate age is sitting on the floor with his back against the wall. He has straight short black hair and a handlebar mustache. He wears a white T-shirt and yellow sweat-pants. His feet are bare and his knees are bent up to support a piece of wood that he is using as a desk. There is a neat stack of ruled letter sized sheets on this
Don't sell a design you've bought for more than you paid, the design is only worth how much you've paid, and how much you've paid for in art! gifts and art trades don't count.Don't sell gifted designs! they can be traded but not sold, you may only sell them for how much you've bought in art, Example: let's say you bought a 15 dollar picture of them, then you may sell them for 15$, but not the design itself for it's worth!Don't sell designs by me that you haven't paid off. (designs with payment plans, etc.)
You must give credit to any design/art of mine you post on TH, or DA, or anywhere else, but it's preferred if you keep it in between those two, though as long as you give credit it's fine.No breedables! or mixing them with other characters/making a copy.Minor changes are allowed, like species, hairstyle, alt color palette.
