Making My Horns by SavannaEGoth Making My Horns by SavannaEGoth
Ohhhhhh, horns~
This giant ass file is in no way a tutorial on how to make them, but I could gladly help you find one.  It's just kind of a pic-by-pic thing that I felt like uploading to get a little more active on here again.

So yeah, these are just a bunch of Savana horn pictures.  Enjoy?

~

hmm, may I suggest a better alternative to attaching big horns onto a headband? You basically use nail attachments and glue at the same time.: ronnienotthebear.tumblr.com/po…

there's another method where before adding the clay to the base, you add string around it, like so: fav.me/d46j6y7

since my horns are a little lightweight, and a little smaller than yours, I just use hot glue XD but if I were to make Gamzee or Tavros horns, I'd go with the string and nail method ^^

Oh no, that's what I did.  It just didn't work out well with the paper clay.

well, use hot glue rather than super glue, or both. Plus, if you would've used the string method, like in the Vriska horn tutorial I showed you, you can just tie the string ends to the headband and glue it on really good

plus, if you make big horns, they're going to be rather heavy, even when you use a tinfoil base. Also, paperclay is slightly heavier than model magic, so I'd suggest using that next time. I'm going to experiment paperclay with my Karkat horns, but since Karkat's horns are smaller, it'd be lighter, whereas bigger horns will be a bit heavier. It all depends on the material and methods

Annnnnnd I used super glue. These horns are just stubborn.

I think hot glue works a little bit better, but use what you think will work better

These look so good! ^^

I think when I make mine for Imerus, I'm gonna mix some red paint with some orange paint to get the orangey-red at the base of the horn, then use regular orange (mixed with a bit of yellow), and then yellow mixed with white. I'll paint the last on first, and the first on last. :)

Thanks!

I was just using the method the tutorial suggested.  It made more sense to me to have an undercoat of yellow, anyways.  But whatever you feel is right.
