How did you achieve the gloss?

i finish most of my pieces with a 2000 grit sand paper, although 1200 will also do,and then i give it a light buff with a cotton rag or buffing wheel, using a white metal polish,to get a high gloss finish,or an oil to get a "yellowed" old polished look, usually most bone pendants will end up like the latter anyways as they draw the oils from the wearers skin

Thank you, I Have yet to achieve a decent polish on any of my works. Hopefully armed with your advise, I may emerge victorious. :D
