I don't tend to post to my journal here on dA; please use the links to my website and social media accounts if you're interested in up-to-the-minute info. I will continue to post artwork here, though...
The Cult of the Great Pumpkin, in association with Sinister Visions inc., is sponsoring its very first contest: Faces of The Great Pumpkin.

The concept is simple: Draw, paint, sculpt or otherwise create a portrait of The Great Pumpkin. That is, YOUR VISION of The Great Pumpkin. Since nobody's ever seen him (and lived to tell about it, anyway), his appearance is completely open to interpretation, and that's what we want to see! Let your imagination run wild, commit your ideas to paper, screen, sculpt or pumpkin pulp, and send it in!

Visit the Cult of the Great Pumpkin Contests Page for full details and information, and share / Tweet / spread the word!

If you're an artist with a dark streak, we want to see your work in the The World Horror Convention 2011 Art Show. Participating artists will have their work seen by hundreds of horror industry authors, publishers, editors and other macabre movers & shakers, as well as horror fans galore! Space is still available, but time is running out - if you've exhibited at WHC in the past, you DO NOT need to go through the Jury Process again - you can go to whc2011.org/art-show/ and reserve your space RIGHT NOW.

Never exhibited with WHC before? No problem - go to worldhorrorconvention.com/faqs… and follow the simple instructions to have your work juried for the show.

Can't attend the show? We've got you covered - WHC2011 is accepting mail-ins. The address is available to any artist who has reserved space.

Questions? Contact Chad Savage at savage@worldhorrorconvention.com .

The World Horror Convention has featured some of dark art's most visionary artists over the past 20 years - YOU should be among them!

Head on over to SinisterFonts.com and grab my newest font Unquiet Spirits, the more mature, reserved, stay-at-home cousin of Ghastly Panic. I was going to call it "Gruesome", but turns out there's a really old font with that name already. Oh, well.

Today I'm releasing a new font called October Crow.   I drew it on Devil's Night (October 30th) while watching The Crow, but   didn't have time to do the font conversion part until this holiday   weekend. Head over to SinisterFonts.com and grab it!

October Crow Font

I've got two more fonts coming down the pipe, as well - Exquisite Corpse and Gruesome. I'll be releasing one per week.

I've also added a photo gallery to the Sinister Visions Facebook Page showcasing Sinister Fonts sightings - if you have any pix to add, feel free!

I'm terrible about remembering to update my journal here on dA (when, oh when will they let us import an RSS feed??) - if you want to know what's going on with me & mine, head to www.savagesinister.com.

Believe it or not, the next HorrorFind Weekend is only 3 months away, and that means it's time for all you dark artists out there to start thinking about the HorrorFind Weekend Horror Art Show! While the art shows in 2006 & 2007 were very successful, we found that the silent auction system we were using caused more problems than it solved, so we've dropped it in favor of a straight-up cash-and-carry system. This will make things simpler for the artists involved, and for the show attendees, and should facilitate a lot more sales! Dark artists everywhere are encouraged to submit their work and participate in the show; juried artists may register RIGHT NOW at www.horrorfindweekend.com/arts…

A couple of months ago Norm Lanier from Haunted Portraits approached me about licensing a few of my paintings to turn into 3D lenticular images and, after much anticipation on my part, the first one has been released! HALcLOWnEEN is now available in 3D HERE, with 2 more images forthcoming.

These prints are 11x14 lenticulars; the "Haunted Portraits" that appears in the preview image does NOT appear on the print itself. I will have a few of these for sale at my booth (#302) at HAuNTcon. Each 3D "Enchantograph" is limited to a series of only 250 and each comes individually numbered and with a matching certificate of authenticity. Order yours now to ensure a low series number. Remember: Once they're gone, they're gone.
SkullRing.org has posted an interview with Chad Savage.
Chad Savage will be participating in the group art show/event Vile Valentine at the Nineteen Hundred and One Gallery at 1901 W Belmont in Chicago, Feb 9th & 10th, 8:00pm - 11:30pm, 21+.
