Conky Metro Clock

Conky Metro Clock is a minimalist conky configuration which resembles the Metro Style clock appearing in the Windows 8 screensaver. The font used is "Open Sans Light".

Nothing fancy. Just shows date and time.

Installation Instructions:

1. First install conky if you don't have it.

2. Extract the files .conkyrc and to your home folder.

3. Run "chmod +x ~/" in a Terminal.

3. Add ~/ to your Startup Applications.

4. Enjoy!

izin download boss

Here's an update that works with Ubuntu 16.04 and the new Lua format. Just copy-paste into your current .conkyrc configuration.

I also reduced the font sized slightly. If you want to change the position, just edit the line alignment = 'top_right' to what you want. If you're having issues with transparency or Conky disappearing, try playing with the own_window_type = 'dock' setting to find something that works for you: normal, desktop, dock, panel, or override. [FYI: the 'override' setting commonly used for this setting is incompatible with the own_window_argb_visial setting.]  cheers!

just sharing, my modified version of .conkyrc so that it looks smaller…
How do you do to have a first uppercase ?
I've seen a lot of conky themes with the date with an uppercase but I can't find how to do it.
I tried to put uppercase to yes but I put all the caps in uppercase.
Can you help me please?? I have no idea for this problem [img]…

How do I combine this one with conky weather?

You can run two conky configs side by side. Just search the interwebz and you can find.

I didn't have the required font, I downloaded it from : [link]

To fix the tansparancy issue, this solution worked for me (solution by Nawmtaronyu)

Add the following two lines right after the # Window specifications proprety in the ~/.conkyrc file

own_window_argb_visual yes
own_window_argb_value 200

Amazing theme btw, I <3 it.

I am getting a black background on the skin when I run it, not transparent, I am not sure how to fix this. 13.04 Ubuntu, I am running compizconfig settings manager to have my wallpaper across my 3 monitors. if that may be causing the problem.

Also it is on my left most monitor and Id like to have it on centre screen, not exactly sure how to to do this.

I use this on my laptop and it runs and looks perfect! really want to get it working on desktop too.

Hmm... I've no idea. May be you can put a delay when conky starts, like sleep 5 && conky

I fixed it by adding
"own_window_argb_visual yes
own_window_argb_value 200"

to the # Window specifications
Nice work dude!
I have installed it but I have noticed that there's a flickering each time I click on the desktop!
If there's a way to fix that ?

Probably that's due to your graphics driver... but I have no idea :(
