Another waterscape from the east devon coastline....

During July we had a lot of sunsets that were predominantly pink hued this illustrates it quite well.

Stood in the sea up to my waste tripod and all......

Beautifully balanced...and great tones....it doesn't look that deep though.

I don't know about you, but I've become an export at stripping a manfrotto tripod down, cleaning out the salt water and sand, oiling and putting it back together again.... :-)

what you implying......there were sort of deeper pools here and there...tbh....ive not even bothered....most of its aluminium and i dont see any rust anywhere.....its on its last legs anyway ....whats your tripod of choice Andy?...
AndyMumford's avatar
I'm not implying anything mate....just that I thought the "I was up to my waist in water" may...just may, have been a slight exageration to impress your lady watchers with your rugged "I'll do anything to get the shot" attitude.

It's not so much the rust, more the fact that all the clasps start to get really stiff, and the legs get stickier. I'm using a manfrotto 190XPro B at the moment, but I reckon I'm going to upgrade to a Gitzo 1540 Mountaineer. I'll keep the Manfrotto for when I need to plonk it down in the waves.

well.....your right....in fact your not right.....i employ someone to take shots like these for me .....

sticky clasps yep know it well......i get quite a few frowning looks when i lock them into place at a peaceful location :D....

how do you gwt on with the manfrotto ?.....thats the relatively new one isn't it?
AndyMumford's avatar
The manfrotto is OK, it feels like a solid tripod, nice height and it's very stable....it's just I'd like something a little lighter for longer walks.

Very nice.
The clouds have the same colors that the sea... And the white space between them is very interesting.
