Animal faces

Some animal faces from imagination to get back into the groove. I find that when using photo references, I tend to freeze up and try to copy the photo too much. Then I get into this "I can't draw! I can't draw!" mindset and everything falls apart. Honestly, the idea is more important than the reference. So when doing daily sketching, first come up with an idea, then start sketching it out and only dig up reference when you start feeling stuck. I looked up reference for the panda and the weasel since I started getting confused with the shapes. The panda looked like a dog first :3

Also, if you want a really soft look for your drawings: Faber Castell Matte graphite! I love love looooove this pencil. I wouldn't recommend basic sketching with it though since it's pretty hard to erase.
