This is my entry for the #AnimeEssentials mascot contest. I called her Mini but it's not a set name XDD
Why did I choose this design? Well, I chose all the clichés I could think of to epitomise anime; Sailor uniform, chibi, funky hair colour and stuff XD I like her funky little utility belt thing.
I'll be brave and click critiques. Go easy on me XD
Her ponytails are uneven on purpose. I thought it was cute <.<
Oh and I know the thighs are too thick and that the paint looks like blackcurrant jam.

Overall Vision Originality Technique ImpactWoah. Just.. WOW. This is breathtaking! This could easily be one of your best deviations ever. There's just so many things about it that are a treat to the eyes. You know how hopeless I am at this, but let's have a go...
The thing that draws me in, like all of your pictures, is those amazing eyes. They are such an incredible shade of blue. The way it blends into the pupil is lovely, and it's all lovely and sparkly. I love it! Plus that rosy tint in her cheeks and nose is adorable. Adds a really nice effect of innocence.
The hair on your characters never fails to impress me. The level of detail in it is frankly astounding and really highlights how much detail and care you put into the picture. I love the swirly curls at the front, very pretty! The bows are really nice too, lovely decoration. I don't know why, but I just get a really big "Magical Girl" vibe from it.
The sailor outfit, as you already said fits the cliche really well, great choice. You drew it really well too, the pink ribbon is really cute. I love the ruffles and crinkles and the really subtle things in your pictures the most, I think.
Same story with the stockings, they really stand out and look so delightfully odd. I love the... I have no idea what it's called at the top of the stockings. Lace? It looks lovely.
The paintbrush and paint globs are a perfect representation of the profession, and the fact it's oversized really adds to the whole chibi effect.
The necklace and initials are perect for the mascot, not "inyaface" but definitely there. It's very well done. And yes, the belt is really cool. Perfect for the busy artist. XD
The background image of her is gorgeous. The rainbow of colours really adds to a feeling of magic I get from this picture. It all blends together really well and it just works. Plus, you can see the detail a lot better.
The Border witht he stars at the bottom and top is the last thing in the picture that gives me a sense of magic. It's a lovely framing of the picture, and it almost gives the impression of a stage, with curtains. I really love it.
All in all, this is a marvelous display of your talents. I wish I was better at wording things, but I tried my best. Best of luck in the contest, I'm rooting for you!
