Devils and Angels

Right, just as I threatened in my journal - a Devils and Angels painting. This was very much inspired from Todd Lockwood's War of the Angels. Though his has an odd twist to it in that it depicts angels, but as a tattoo on someone's back. Cool idea, but I decided I wanted to paint something similar, without that element...
The style this was painted in was actually more similar to drawing than painting, with the figures. In extreme close up (the size I was painting it for example) you can see the indivial colour lines, looking more like sketch lines than paint. This was just because I painted it with a particularly fine paintbrush to get all the detail without making the picture size absolutely huge.

I planned the figure composition out for this in Poser, then used that for reference when painting. The wings, and certainly the background and weapons, were done largely without reference. Do let me know if any of them look a bit off.
