My first tutorial page is done! *woots* Anyways...
Anyone can do this. It takes practice, a little bit of studying and work. The eye is in my opinion one of the most important features in my mind. You can make the most beautiful character ever but if you cross their eyes, don't line them up well or just don't give them the right detail it can completely kill your pic.
In this sheet I give you several different examples of eyes and their shapes along with a wedge design. Now a wedge design for the most part is breaking the surfice/mass of your subject down into more simplified shapes so that you can work on a more base level. This can be incredibly useful when you say move onto drawing hands or feet that have multiple curves and plains that must be plotted out and executed in a particular manner.
Eyes are relatively simply in their make up. One orb or sphere basically surrounded by various masses of flesh. The hardest part is placing the iris and pupil. But with a simple cross point (the x in the eye) you can successfully plot the pupil where you want or need it to go and thus make the iris.
Anyways if you like what you see and need a little work on your eyes here's a suggestion on the single best way to learn. Go and gra your magazines. It doesn't matter what they are persay as long as they have real people in them. Then go through the magazine and just start drawing each person's eyes. This will get you to work on different shapes and will also give you good and reliable references. Or if you got a good freind or two use their eyes and sketch them out whenever you can.
Cus remember kids....The eyes are the Window to the human Soul.
