Hi all. Nice to meet you. It’s good to be here.
Born in New England, I grew up down South nearby one of the largest military bases in the lower 48. No, I wasn’t a military brat, but I’m proud to have known quite a few.
The product of an unlikely union between Austrian/English new world aristocracy and hardscrabble Scot/Irish, I’ve always been a little confused about where I fit in. One thing that I know for sure is that I love fiber crafts.
I learned to embroider before I learned to tie my shoes, then added sewing, knitting, spinning and more as I’ve gone along. Today I’m learning the ins and outs of business and trying to make my way as a designer, writer and artist.
I can still get my Southern on, though at this point I’ve lived all over the US, including a 3 year stint in Alaska which was plenty long enough to learn the value of warm accessories. I don’t travel much these days, with 4 kids to raise, but someday I want to visit Ireland, England, India and beyond.
I’m inspired by the immensity of the world, by the little things, by the profound variety of human culture and things I don’t understand. I’m inspired by you.
I love to hear from folks, what they want or not, what they like, what they dislike. I listen and incorporate it all into the things that I make. So consider yourself invited at my group, my blog or my designs. Pleased to meet you.
