Have fun.

I had sew, the seam allowance on this is only like 1/8". Beef it up if you need more space :D

Need help putting it together??

This might sound stupid, but how would you attach the arms? Before or after sewing the body?

either way. I do after if the seams will be hidden by clothing and before if they will show :D

Ah, sweet, I'm spoiled for choice lol.

If you do after, is it the same method as sewing the head? Or another one?

Also (Sorry for so many questions, I'm making my first plush after years and I want to make it perfect lmao) When creating the clothes, they're meant to slip on like normal clothes? And what pattern did you use to a shirt? I'm no good at creating patterns and I can't find a decent one aha.

Totally okay! I just stitch it on normally when I do it on the outside since you don't see it I don't bother about being neat :'D

If I sew it in the seam I usually cut a little half circle in the body to attach it.

For a shirt it really depends on the design, but usually its just a front and back a little bigger than the body with openings for sleeves which are usually just tubes. :D

Aha, thanks!

I took long to reply as I wanted to keep this open in my notifications on what to do lmao.

sta.sh/2ee3s8jmp2v my finished piece (after 7 days, yay children)
The head was a pain to sew on but the rest was fairly easy to do!

Hey Sakky! I think about making one of my OC as an Plush when I have finished my studies in fall. But to plan (and to buy all the stuff I need): What kind of fabric do you recommend using
- for the skin?
- for the hair?
And how many do I need?
Oh and how do I add the eyes, mouth etc.?
I watched your tutorial, and it's possible you said it in there, but I'm no native English speaker, so I may have missed that.
I would really appreciate you answer! ^-^

I used to use felt for everything, but I use deersuede now for the bodies and faces (I purchase it from dollmakersjourney.com/ who I can highly recommend!)

I still use felt for everything else unless a commissioner has a specific fabric request.

How much you need depends on the character, but if you're using this pattern you can start with a few sheets of felt in the colors you need.

For the face, your options are:
- paint on (can be messy and challenging)
- embroider (takes a long time unless you have a machine)
- iron on transfer for dark fabrics (which you can buy at craft stores)

I do the last option. I used to hand draw the eyes on the transfer paper, but now I do them digitally and print.

Hope this helps!

Thank you very much! This really helped me! Funny thing: my boyfriend works with cars and he has some suede over form an car they covered the seating new. It's in a very light creme tone so perfect for the doll. xD They want to throw it away but now I told him, to take it home. xDD So I only have to buy the other colors! YAY
Okay, I think I'll also try to iron the face on. But I first gonna try it on a test piece. I'm not sure if the suede can be ironed...
So again thanks so much for your help Sakky!

Ack I'm super excited to use this for making my OC Affinity Rapture. Roughly how much fabric did you use for any given piece? (Trying to estimate how much fabric I'll need a week before payday. :P)

Awesome! Depends on the character, but if you get one felt sheet for each color in the outfit you should be okay. You might want two sheets of whatever color you're using for the skin and maybe more than one for the hair depending on style :D

Just wanted to say thanks for sharing your pattern!

The cutouts for the head specifically helped me figure out how to put together something properly shaped for my plushies- a problem that was giving me a bit of difficulty with a while back. I did tweak the design a bit, but the general shapes helped me with the structure considerably. :)
