Chapter 2: Belle and Maurice
Feeling a cold breeze on her cheek, Elise curls into a ball, trying to keep warm. Though she doesn't open her eyes, her consciousness comes to her slowly. "Eh, who opened a window?" She clutches the blanket tightly in her hands.
She sighs, thinking she needs to shut the window. Slowly sitting up, she stretches, feeling the cold air reach her skin. Gently, she opens her eyelids of their idle position, and the blur of sleep fades from her sight. Her eyes wide as her gaze meets a stone pavement. Looking around, she finds that she isn't home anymore. Observing her surroundings, she finds herself in a small alleyway.
"Where am I? How did I get here?" Looking out of the alleyway, she stands up, feeling slightly frightened.
